About givestar

givestar is building the next generation of charitable giving. Our platform is designed to make fundraising more social, engaging and rewarding for the people raising money, the charities they support, and the events that bring them together.

While many of the world's established fundraising platforms were built more than two decades ago, givestar was created around how people use technology today: mobile-first, connected and community-driven.

And we're well beyond the idea stage.

givestar has already helped raise around $70m for charity, built a community of approximately 750,000 users, and works with major charities and fundraising events. With around 10,000 new users joining each week, the foundations are in place for the next stage of growth.

Following a $12m Series A, we're now moving from startup to scale-up. We're investing across our leadership, product, engineering and commercial teams, while accelerating our expansion into the US.

We work on a hybrid basis, with the team typically spending 2–3 days a week together in our London office.

About the role

We're looking for a Head of UK Charity Sales & Account Management to lead and develop our UK charity commercial function across Sales, Account Management and Enterprise.

You'll be responsible for the day-to-day performance of these teams, turning our commercial strategy into clear priorities and targets, and making sure we follow through on them.

As givestar grows, you'll help put the structure, processes and accountability in place to grow UK charity revenue across new business, retention and expansion.

What you'll be doing

UK charity performance

  • Own day-to-day delivery against UK charity revenue targets across new business, retention and expansion.
  • Turn the CRO's commercial strategy into clear team and individual targets.
  • Own forecasting across the function, keeping on top of gaps, risks and opportunities.

Sales & Enterprise

  • Lead the Sales team to build pipeline, improve conversion and close new charity partners.
  • Provide structure and senior support for larger and more complex Enterprise opportunities.
  • Coach the team on deal strategy, qualification, negotiation and closing.
  • Bring consistency to how opportunities are managed from pipeline through to close.

Account Management

  • Lead the Account Management team with clear accountability for retention, NRR and expansion.
  • Bring a structured approach to account planning, identifying and progressing retention and expansion opportunities across the customer base.
  • Make sure there are clear handovers and ownership between Sales and Account Management.

Management & rigour

  • Put in place a clear weekly and monthly rhythm for reviewing pipeline, forecasting, accounts and performance.
  • Maintain high standards for CRM data, forecasting and commercial reporting.
  • Use data to understand where performance needs attention and agree what needs to happen next.
  • Give the CRO a clear and reliable view of UK charity performance, risks and opportunities.

Team leadership

  • Set clear expectations, targets and accountability across Sales, Account Management and Enterprise.
  • Coach and develop people across the function.
  • Manage performance clearly and consistently.
  • Help build a strong team and raise standards as givestar grows.

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience leading and developing a B2B commercial team.
  • Experience managing both new business sales and growth across existing accounts.
  • Strong sales management experience, including coaching, pipeline management, forecasting and performance management.
  • Experience bringing more structure, clear processes and accountability to a growing commercial team.
  • Strong commercial and analytical skills, with the ability to understand the numbers and turn them into action.
  • A hands-on approach to leadership and the confidence to get involved in important deals and accounts when needed.
  • Strong people management experience, with a track record of developing people and raising standards.
  • Experience working in a business scaling from Series A towards Series B, with an understanding of how a commercial function needs to develop as a business grows.

It would be great if you also have

  • Experience managing Enterprise sales alongside mid-market teams.
  • Experience in SaaS, technology, payments or platform businesses.
  • Experience developing a commercial function at a similar stage of growth.

Why givestar?

givestar is at a really interesting point in its growth. There's already a product in market, a large and growing community using it, and plenty still to build.

For our Head of UK Charity Sales & Account Management, that means joining at a stage where you'll have the opportunity to shape how our UK charity commercial teams work together as we grow.

If you're looking for a commercial leadership role where you can lead and develop people, improve how things work and play an important part in givestar's next stage of growth, we'd love to hear from you.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
