About givestar

givestar is building the next generation of charitable giving. Our platform is designed to make fundraising more social, engaging and rewarding for the people raising money, the charities they support, and the events that bring them together.

While many of the world's established fundraising platforms were built more than two decades ago, givestar was created around how people use technology today: mobile-first, connected and community-driven.

And we're well beyond the idea stage.

givestar has already helped raise around $70m for charity, built a community of approximately 750,000 users, and works with major charities and fundraising events. With around 10,000 new users joining each week, the foundations are in place for the next stage of growth.

Following a $12m Series A, we're now moving from startup to scale-up. We're investing across our leadership, product, engineering and commercial teams, while accelerating our expansion into the US.

We work on a hybrid basis, with the team typically spending 2–3 days a week together in our London office.

About the role

We're looking for an experienced Senior Account Manager to look after some of givestar's largest and most complex charity relationships.

You'll own the commercial performance of your portfolio and build strong relationships with senior charity stakeholders, getting to know their organisations, what they're trying to achieve and how givestar can best support them.

This is a senior role within the Account Management team. Alongside managing your own portfolio, you'll bring your experience and judgement to the wider team and help us improve how we manage and grow our charity partnerships.

What you'll be doing

Strategic portfolio ownership

  • Own a portfolio of givestar's largest and most complex charity accounts.
  • Be the main senior relationship for those accounts and take responsibility for their ongoing success.
  • Lead activation for major accounts from handover through to first value, working closely with the relevant new business colleague.
  • Understand each charity's objectives, fundraising plans, opportunities and risks.

Commercial strategy & negotiation

  • Own renewal, retention and expansion across your portfolio.
  • Lead commercial negotiations with customers through to signature.
  • Proactively identify and progress opportunities to grow accounts through greater platform use, cross-sell, additional products and charity programmes.
  • Spot account and renewal risks early and put clear plans in place to address them.

Senior stakeholder relationships

  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders, including CEOs and Directors of Fundraising.
  • Understand what's important to each organisation and bring that context into how we work with them.
  • Represent givestar in senior leadership and Board-level conversations where needed.

Team standards & mentoring

  • Support other Account Managers when they're working through complex accounts, negotiations or stakeholder situations.
  • Share what you've learned and help others develop their approach.
  • Help improve our account management playbooks, processes and CRM standards as the team grows.

Cross-functional collaboration

  • Work closely with Event Partnerships to help key charities take part successfully in event partner programmes.
  • Bring customer insight and product feedback back into givestar.
  • Work with teams across the business to solve customer problems and keep accounts moving forward.

Reporting & forecasting

  • Keep CRM data, account plans and commercial reporting accurate and up to date.
  • Maintain clear visibility of account health, renewal timing, commercial risk and opportunities for growth.
  • Provide reliable forecasts and make sure the wider team has a clear picture of what's happening across your accounts.

What we're looking for

  • At least 5 years’ experience in account management, customer success, partnerships or commercial client services, including managing complex or high-value accounts.
  • Experience retaining and growing a significant portfolio of customer accounts.
  • Experience leading commercial negotiations directly with customers.
  • Confidence building relationships with senior stakeholders, including C-suite or Board-level contacts.
  • Strong commercial judgement and an understanding of how customer value and revenue growth can work together.
  • Strong organisation, follow-through and attention to detail.
  • A disciplined approach to CRM data, forecasting and account planning.
  • A proactive approach to solving customer problems and bringing the right people together internally.

It would be great if you also have

  • Experience mentoring or supporting more junior Account Managers.
  • An interest in charities, fundraising, events or technology.
  • Familiarity with a sales methodology such as MEDDIC.
  • Experience using AI-powered sales tools.

Why givestar?

givestar is at a really interesting point in its growth. There's already a product in market, a large and growing community using it, and plenty still to build.

For our Senior Account Manager, that means joining while we're growing the team and developing how we work with our charity partners.

If you're looking for a senior account role where you can build strong relationships, work closely with charity leaders and contribute to a growing team, we'd love to hear from you.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
