About givestar

Givestar is building the next generation of charitable giving. Our platform is designed to make fundraising more social, engaging and rewarding for the people raising money, the charities they support, and the events that bring them together.

While many of the world's established fundraising platforms were built more than two decades ago, givestar was created around how people use technology today: mobile-first, connected and community-driven.

And we're well beyond the idea stage.

Givestar has already helped raise around $70m for charity, built a community of approximately 750,000 users, and works with major charities and fundraising events. With around 10,000 new users joining each week, the foundations are in place for the next stage of growth.

Following a $12m Series A, we're now moving from startup to scale-up. We're investing across our leadership, product, engineering and commercial teams, while accelerating our expansion into the US.

We work on a hybrid basis, with the team typically spending 2–3 days a week together in our London office.

About the role

We're looking for an experienced new-business salesperson to help grow givestar's network of charity partners in the UK.

You'll build and manage a healthy pipeline of new opportunities, getting to know each charity and understanding what they're trying to achieve. From there, you'll show how givestar's core platform and event-linked programmes can support their goals and take opportunities from first conversation through to signed partnership.

You'll work closely with Account Management to make sure new partners have a smooth handover and are set up well from the start.

What you'll be doing

Pipeline & new business

  • Identify, qualify and manage a pipeline of new charity opportunities to meet quarterly new-business revenue targets.
  • Proactively find and engage new prospects alongside inbound opportunities from Marketing and the wider team.
  • Build and maintain an accurate, well-qualified pipeline in the CRM, with clear forecasting and next steps for every opportunity.

Discovery & solution design

  • Lead consultative discovery conversations to understand each charity's goals and commercial potential.
  • Turn what you learn in discovery into a relevant and tailored pitch.
  • Position givestar's platform and event-linked programmes based on what each charity is trying to achieve.
  • Build trusted relationships with charity contacts by understanding their goals rather than simply selling the product.

Negotiation & closing

  • Take opportunities from initial conversations through to signed contracts.
  • Lead commercial conversations and negotiations, bringing in senior colleagues for more complex or high-value opportunities where needed.

Handover & activation

  • Work closely with Account Managers to provide clear, well-documented handovers for new partners.
  • Build activation plans that give Account Management the information they need to support new partners from the start.
  • Help set new charity partners up to reach their early fundraising milestones.

Market & product feedback

  • Share feedback from charity partners with the wider givestar team.
  • Bring commercial insight back into the business to help us improve our product and sales approach.

What we're looking for

  • At least 3 years' experience in B2B sales or business development, ideally within SaaS, fundraising technology or another consultative sales environment.
  • A track record of working towards and achieving sales or revenue targets.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience leading discovery calls and presenting to prospective partners.
  • An organised, data-led approach to managing pipeline and keeping CRM information accurate.
  • An entrepreneurial approach and comfort working in a fast-moving, growing business.

It would be great if you also have

  • An interest in the charity, events or technology sectors.
  • Familiarity with a sales methodology such as MEDDIC.
  • Experience using AI-powered sales tools.

Why givestar?

givestar is at a really interesting point in its growth. There's already a product in market, a large and growing community using it, and plenty still to build.

For our New Business Executive, that means joining at a stage where you'll have the opportunity to bring new charity partners to givestar and play a direct part in growing our UK business.

If you're looking for a sales role where you can build relationships, understand what customers really need and see the partnerships you win go on to make an impact, we'd love to hear from you.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
