The Role The Vice President of Client Policy is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing Glass Lewis's global client policy function. This individual will lead a team of policy professionals who serve as the primary experts on client proxy voting policy design, implementation, and ongoing management. The Vice President of Client Policy will play a critical role in shaping the tools clients use to build their policies. This individual will partner with Product, Technology, and Client Services to build solutions that support institutional investors in policy consultation, design, reporting, and insights. This is a highly cross-functional role that sits at the intersection of client services, product, research, and commercial, and requires a leader who can operate both strategically and hands-on.

This role is permanent and hybrid, based out of our Amsterdam office, with regular in-person attendance three days a week. Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience leading teams, ideally in a role that combined people management with product, operations, or service delivery;
  • Strong track record of partnering with Product/Engineering teams to design and launch tools, workflows, or platforms;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex or technical concepts for diverse audiences;
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities across a global team;
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and influence without direct authority;
  • Comfort engaging with senior stakeholders, including clients and internal leadership;
  • Background in proxy voting, corporate governance, financial services, or institutional investing is a strong plus, but not required—we'll invest in ramping the right person up on the domain;
  • Bachelor's degree required.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, develop, and inspire a global team of client policy professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement;
  • Define team structure, roles, and capacity to support business growth and an evolving service model;
  • Set clear performance expectations and provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and career development support;
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex client policy matters and guide the team through challenging situations with sound judgment.

 Product & Technology Partnership

  • Partner directly with Product and Technology to design and build tools and workflows that streamline policy design, implementation, and client-facing insights;
  • Act as the voice of the client and the team in product development, translating operational needs into clear requirements and prioritized roadmap input;
  • Identify gaps in current tooling and service delivery, and champion initiatives that drive automation, efficiency, and differentiation;
  • Bring a builder's mindset: comfortable with ambiguity, iteration, and driving a roadmap from idea to shipped solution;

Client & Commercial Engagement

  • Partner with Sales and Client Services leadership to support retention, renewal, and expansion for key accounts;
  • Engage with senior client stakeholders as a trusted advisor, with support from subject-matter experts on your team as needed;
  • Contribute to RFPs, proposals, and prospect conversations alongside the Commercial team.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Research, Operations, Technology, and Commercial teams to ensure seamless service delivery and alignment on strategic priorities;
  • Drive the evolution of the overall policy service model in partnership with stakeholders across the business.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
