The Opportunity
This is a hands-on controls role where the equipment is the job. You'd be the electrical controls resource for a battery separator manufacturing plant, working on the systems that decide whether the lines run: E-Beam / LFE systems, tension control, winders and rewinders, and mixing and weighing systems.
The base is $95,000–$110,000 plus a bonus, and Siemens experience is the center of the role.
Why This Opportunity Is Worth a Look
- Siemens-centered work: Siemens PLCs and single- and multi-loop Siemens controllers are required, and you'd work with WinCC and Wonderware HMI and historian software.
- Mission-critical equipment: You'd advise manufacturing on troubleshooting where electrical controls are critical to production.
- Reliability ownership: You'd track and report Uptime, MTBF, and PM performance for the plant's critical equipment.
- Improvement and capital planning: You'd write and propose continuous improvement plans and annual CAPEX projects aimed at reliability.
- Commissioning exposure: You'd write PM and calibration procedures and training during commissioning of new or upgraded equipment.
- Direct hire, full time: This is a permanent position located on site in Johnson City, Tennessee.
What Your Week Looks Like
- Troubleshoot electrical controls problems alongside production and maintenance teams
- Track and report Uptime, MTBF, and PM metrics on critical equipment
- Coach supervisors and technicians on prioritizing daily maintenance work, PMs/TPM activities, and troubleshooting
- Coach the spare parts management system coordinator
- Develop plans to keep critical equipment current with the latest available manufacturer or competitive technology
- Propose continuous improvement projects and annual CAPEX plans
- Write PM procedures, calibration procedures, and training for new or upgraded equipment
- Serve as the liaison between IT and the plant on manufacturing network issues
The schedule includes some weekend activity and on-call support for off-hours emergencies.

Technical Skills
- Siemens PLC programming (required); Automation Direct, Allen-Bradley, and Mitsubishi PLCs are a plus
- Installing, troubleshooting, programming, and tuning AC/DC/VFD motor drives
- Single- and multi-loop Siemens controllers
- HMI programming in WinCC, Wonderware, or similar, plus data historians and loggers
- Industrial networking: ProfiNet, Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, and TCP/IP
- Ladder logic and P&ID diagrams, covering extruder motors, melt and liquid pumps, load cells, temperature, pressure, and level controllers, and tension winding/unwinding controllers
- Reading and editing electrical, instrumentation, and automation documents: process loop drawings, P&IDs, schematics, wiring diagrams, installation details, logic diagrams, mechanical prints, and specification sheets
- AutoCAD and MS Office proficiency
- Ability to identify, source, and control stock for key spare parts
Requirements
