Hillcrest Health & Living is looking for a compassionate and dependable Nurse Tech (CNA) to join our full-time day-shift nursing team at Hillcrest Firethorn in Lincoln. As a Nurse Tech, you’ll be one of the people our guests and residents rely on most. From helping someone get comfortable for the night to responding when they need assistance or recognizing an important change in their condition, the care you provide matters. What You’ll Do As a Nurse Tech (CNA), you’ll work alongside nurses, Med Techs, and other team members to provide personalized care throughout the night. You will:
Assist guests and residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene, toileting, and other activities of daily living. Encourage independence by helping each person do as much as safely possible for themselves. Respond to call lights and resident needs promptly and compassionately. Assist with transfers, positioning, ambulation, and wheelchair transportation according to individualized care plans. Obtain and record vital signs as directed. Observe for physical, behavioral, or emotional changes and promptly communicate concerns to the nurse. Assist with snacks, hydration, and other dining needs as appropriate. Help guests and residents settle in comfortably and maintain a calm, safe environment throughout the night. Change linens and help maintain clean, comfortable resident-care areas. Follow individualized care plans and established safety and clinical procedures. Complete required care documentation accurately and on time. Communicate refusals of care, abnormal vital signs, and other concerns to the nurse. Follow infection-control, safety, and resident-handling procedures. Work collaboratively with nurses, Med Techs, therapy, culinary, and other team members to provide excellent care. Build positive relationships with guests, residents, families, and coworkers through kindness, patience, and respect.

Have an active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in Nebraska. Genuinely enjoy caring for and supporting aging adults. Are dependable and take pride in being someone residents and teammates can count on. Communicate well with residents, families, nurses, and other team members. Can recognize and quickly communicate changes in a resident’s condition. Bring patience, compassion, and respect to personal care. Can balance multiple resident needs while continuing to provide quality care. Stay calm and professional in a busy or changing environment. Are comfortable using electronic documentation and healthcare technology. Bring a positive, team-first attitude to every shift.
Previous experience as a CNA, Nurse Tech, nursing assistant, caregiver, or other direct-care role is preferred. Experience in skilled nursing, post-acute rehabilitation, long-term care, assisted living, or a hospital setting is also a plus. Education & Credentials
Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in Nebraska required. High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Basic Life Support/CPR certification required or willingness to obtain within the required timeframe. Previous experience providing personal care to aging adults preferred.

Physical & Other Requirements
Must be able to speak, read, and write English. Must be able to independently lift up to 35 pounds. Must be able to perform repetitive sitting, bending, standing, walking, reaching, lifting, and movement as needed. Must be able to safely assist guests and residents with transfers, ambulation, mobility, and personal care. Must be flexible, calm, and professional when working with guests, residents, or families in stressful situations. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail. Must be able to utilize technology, electronic documentation systems, and clinical resources efficiently and effectively. Possible exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids. Other duties as assigned.
