Reporting to senior marketing leadership, the Director will oversee marketing initiatives, coordinate internal and external resources, and ensure communications consistently engage both professional and consumer audiences.

Position Overview

The Director of Marketing & Communications will turn the organization's marketing strategy into effective campaigns, compelling content, and consistent communications across channels.

Initial priorities will include refining audience messaging, developing educational materials, coordinating launch preparation, and establishing reliable campaign planning and reporting processes. As commercialization progresses, the Director will help strengthen the team's capabilities and support broader market engagement.

The role combines team leadership with direct involvement in writing, campaign development, project management, and performance analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate established marketing and business priorities into actionable campaign plans, content calendars, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Develop and manage integrated campaigns that build awareness, educate audiences, and support product adoption.
  • Apply brand positioning and messaging consistently across websites, email, social media, presentations, and marketing materials.
  • Create, edit, and oversee content for professional and consumer audiences, translating complex information into clear and relevant communications.
  • Coordinate marketing activities for product launches, ensuring materials, channels, and internal resources are prepared for key milestones.
  • Manage corporate communications related to organizational developments, research progress, publications, and partnerships.
  • Support public relations activities through media materials, executive talking points, announcements, and coordination with external partners.
  • Lead and develop marketing staff while managing agency and vendor relationships.
  • Partner with commercial, product, and other internal teams to gather information, align deliverables, and maintain appropriate review processes.
  • Manage assigned budgets, monitor spending, and recommend adjustments based on priorities and campaign performance.
  • Establish campaign measures, prepare performance reports, and use results to improve messaging, channel selection, and audience engagement.
  • Maintain clear workflows and accountability for deadlines, content quality, and execution.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • A bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related discipline.
  • Progressive experience in marketing and communications, including responsibility for teams, campaigns, or major cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience developing and executing campaigns for both professional and consumer audiences.
  • A record of supporting successful product launches or significant market introductions.
  • Strong writing, editing, presentation, and storytelling skills.
  • Practical experience with digital marketing, content development, brand management, and corporate communications.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects, coordinate stakeholders, and deliver quality work within established timelines.
  • Experience coaching marketing professionals and managing external partners.
  • Comfort using campaign data to evaluate effectiveness and recommend improvements.
  • The ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining strong communication and collaboration.

Preferred Experience

  • Marketing within healthcare, life sciences, or another regulated industry.
  • Supporting commercialization within an emerging or evolving product category.
  • Developing educational content for specialized professional audiences.
  • Building awareness through organic content, partnerships, and public relations.
  • A graduate degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related discipline.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary range is $170,000–$195,000, plus bonus and equity.

The benefits package includes:

  • Fully covered medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and dependents.
  • Unlimited vacation and paid holidays.
  • Home office equipment support.
  • Professional development funding.
  • Wellness support.

Working Environment

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
