The Opportunity

An innovative organization is seeking an experienced Vice President of Marketing to lead its marketing and communications strategy through product commercialization and continued growth.

This executive will guide brand development, market positioning, audience engagement, product launch planning, and corporate communications. The role requires a leader who can establish strategic direction, execute priorities, and build a marketing function that supports measurable business results.

Reporting to commercial leadership, the Vice President will lead and develop an existing marketing team while partnering with colleagues across the organization.

Position Overview

The Vice President of Marketing will develop an integrated strategy for reaching both professional and consumer audiences. This includes defining target markets, shaping clear and credible messaging, selecting effective channels, and establishing measures of success.

Initial priorities will include strengthening market awareness, refining positioning, developing audience education strategies, and preparing for anticipated product introductions. As commercialization progresses, the role will expand the team and capabilities needed to support launch execution and sustained growth.

The Vice President will also oversee corporate communications, ensuring that organizational developments, research progress, publications, and partnerships are communicated clearly and consistently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute an integrated marketing and communications strategy aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Establish brand positioning that earns the trust of professional audiences while remaining accessible and relevant to consumers.
  • Define audience segments, messaging, channel strategies, and engagement plans.
  • Lead product launch planning, coordinating marketing readiness with product development and applicable regulatory milestones.
  • Build awareness and understanding of emerging products and their potential value.
  • Develop educational content and campaigns that support professional engagement and consumer demand.
  • Establish performance measures appropriate to each stage of development and commercialization.
  • Direct corporate messaging related to research, product development, publications, partnerships, and organizational progress.
  • Partner with executive leadership to translate business priorities into focused marketing plans.
  • Lead daily execution while maintaining accountability for strategic objectives.
  • Assess team capabilities, recruit additional talent as needed, and develop marketing professionals.
  • Identify opportunities to build awareness through compelling content, partnerships, and organic engagement.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline. MBA is highly preferred.
  • Experience building or substantially developing a marketing function.
  • A record of marketing effectively to both professional and consumer audiences.
  • Successful product launch experience, including the ability to apply lessons from previous launches.
  • Strong judgment in brand strategy, positioning, messaging, and creative execution.
  • The ability to translate complex information into clear, credible, and engaging communications.
  • Experience setting strategy with executive leadership while remaining actively involved in execution.
  • Success hiring, coaching, and developing marketing talent.
  • Comfort working through uncertainty, setting priorities, and establishing meaningful performance measures.
  • The ability to collaborate across disciplines and adapt plans as business needs evolve.

Preferred Experience

  • Marketing within healthcare, life sciences, or another regulated industry.
  • Building awareness and engagement without relying primarily on a substantial paid media budget.
  • Supporting commercialization within an emerging or evolving product category.

The salary range for this position is $250,000–$340,000 annually. The benefits package includes:

  • Fully covered medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and dependents.
  • Home office equipment support.
  • Professional development funding.
  • Wellness support.
  • Unlimited vacation and paid holidays.
  • Equity participation through stock options.

Working Environment

The organization values thoughtful decision-making, collaboration, accountability, and clear communication. Leaders are expected to welcome different perspectives, explain the reasoning behind decisions, and balance ambitious goals with disciplined execution.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
