Our client is a private horseback riding academy offering riding instruction, horse training, and comprehensive equine care. With a focus on horse welfare and rider development, the academy provides a professional environment supported by experienced trainers, veterinarians, and stable management teams.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Equine Veterinarian to provide comprehensive medical, surgical, and preventive healthcare services for a prestigious Arabian horse operation. This role is responsible for ensuring the health, welfare, and peak performance of breeding, training, and competition horses while supporting all aspects of reproductive and herd health management.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Performing routine, emergency, and preventive veterinary examinations.
  • Diagnosing and treating equine illnesses, injuries, and medical conditions.
  • Developing treatment plans, prescribing medications, and performing surgical procedures when required.
  • Establishing and managing vaccination, deworming, disease prevention, and biosecurity programs.
  • Advising on nutrition, conditioning, rehabilitation, and overall horse health management.
  • Managing reproductive health programs, including breeding soundness examinations, pregnancy diagnosis, mare and stallion fertility management, foaling support, and fresh and frozen embryo operations.
  • Collecting and interpreting diagnostic samples, laboratory results, and imaging to support clinical decision-making.
  • Maintaining accurate medical records and monitoring recovery and rehabilitation programs.
  • Assessing horses for fitness, soundness, and competition readiness.
  • Working closely with trainers, riders, farriers, nutritionists, and stable management to optimize horse performance and welfare.
  • Providing veterinary guidance during emergencies, disease outbreaks, and critical care situations while educating stable staff on equine health and first aid practices.

About You

  • A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or an equivalent veterinary qualification.
  • A minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on equine veterinary experience, ideally within breeding farms, stud operations, or performance horse facilities.
  • Strong experience managing breeding, performance, and show horses, with exposure to reproductive programs and foaling operations.
  • Solid knowledge of equine medicine, surgery, diagnostic imaging, reproduction, and herd health management.
  • Excellent clinical judgment and the ability to diagnose and manage a broad range of equine medical conditions.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with trainers, breeders, and stable teams.
  • Excellent organizational and record-keeping abilities with a proactive and detail-oriented approach.
  • A genuine passion for equine welfare, professional integrity, and delivering the highest standards of veterinary care within a high-performance equestrian environment.
