We have an excellent job opportunity for an experienced Field Quality Engineer – Mechanical QA/QC with a reputed project certification and quality inspection company for its ongoing Copper Tube Manufacturing Facility Project at Sri City, Andhra Pradesh.

Position Details

  • Position: Field Quality Engineer – Mechanical QA/QC
  • Location: Sri City, Andhra Pradesh
  • Project: Copper Tube Manufacturing Facility
  • Monthly Salary: INR 65,000 – 72,000
  • Employment Type: As per project/company requirements

Educational Qualification & Experience

  • BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering – Minimum 10 years of experience.
  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering – Minimum 12 years of experience.

Job Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for implementing and monitoring project quality systems, ensuring compliance with approved quality plans, technical specifications, engineering drawings, applicable standards and project requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Reviewing project drawings, BOQs, contract specifications and technical documents.
  2. Preparing and implementing Project Quality Plans (PQP), Quality Assurance Plans (QAP), Inspection and Test Plans (ITP), quality procedures and work instructions.
  3. Reviewing and preparing FQP, WPS, PQR, inspection formats, checklists and quality documentation.
  4. Planning, scheduling and conducting inspections of materials, mechanical equipment and components during erection and commissioning.
  5. Conducting quality inspections and surveillance of construction activities at project sites.
  6. Inspecting structural steel materials, fabrication, welding and erection activities.
  7. Reviewing material test reports, inspection reports, test certificates and other quality records.
  8. Coordinating with Third-Party Inspection (TPI) agencies, vendors, contractors and internal project teams.
  9. Conducting vendor inspections and Pre-Dispatch Inspections (PDI), as required.
  10. Reviewing Inspection Reports (IR), monitoring observations and ensuring timely closure of non-conformities (NCRs).
  11. Preparing daily, weekly and monthly quality reports and MIS documentation.
  12. Ensuring compliance with project quality manuals, applicable codes, standards and contract technical specifications.
  13. Coordinating with engineering and construction teams to resolve quality-related issues.
  14. Supporting internal and external quality audits and ensuring closure of audit observations.
  15. Maintaining project quality records, inspection documentation and compliance reports.
  16. Monitoring material inspection and testing activities at site and external laboratories.

Mandatory Technical Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience in Mechanical QA/QC activities in industrial construction projects.
  • Experience in structural steel work, including material inspection, fabrication and erection.
  • Exposure to quality construction activities related to Iron Ore Handling Plants.
  • L2 Level exposure/qualification as per project requirements.
  • Knowledge of QAP, ITP, FQP, WPS and PQR.
  • Experience in mechanical equipment inspection, material inspection, erection and commissioning.
  • Good knowledge of technical documentation, inspection reports, test reports and engineering specifications.
  • Experience in TPI coordination, vendor inspections and construction quality surveillance.

Required NDT Certifications

  • RT – Level II
  • PT – Level II
  • MT – Level II
  • UT – Level IIdetails.
