Job Description:

Accounting Team Lead

Huntsman is seeking an Accounting Supervisor supporting the HBS Division located in the United States and Canada. This position will report to the HBS Accounting Manager.

Job Scope

Reporting to the HBS Accounting Manager, the Incumbent will be responsible for providing accurate, timely and compliant financial results within the published time table.

In summary, as the Accounting Supervisor, you will:

  • Reports to the HBS Accounting Manager and provides support to the HBS Finance Team to ensure complete and compliant corporate financial accounts are prepared each month within the published timetable.
  • Incumbent will be responsible for coordinating Accounting.
  • Audit – Support the Manager - General Accounting in fulfilling all quarterly and annual audit requirements, including the preparation of all PBC schedules.
  • SOX Compliance – Support the Manager Systems Support/Projects in maintaining internal controls as required by SOX.
  • US State and local sales tax exemption support.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in Costa Rica.

All candidates are expected to work at our office in AFZ, Heredia on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Please note that there may be occasions where additional office days are required, due specific business needs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor Accounting Degree required
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Advanced English

Skills and knowledge

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proficient with MS Excel.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills

  • Customer Focus

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAP B1 experience preferred

Working Environment

  • Incumbent will supervise the Accounting and Accounts Payable teams. As a member of the accounting team, you will be working in a fast-paced environment while building relationships within the accounting team and the larger Huntsman organization.
