Wij zijn momenteel op zoek naar een Senior Process Control Engineer die technische en strategische expertise biedt binnen onze Industrial Automation & Control Systems (IACS)-omgeving.

In deze functie ben je verantwoordelijk voor de betrouwbaarheid, cybersecurity en het lifecycle management van kritische productiesystemen. Daarnaast ondersteun je initiatieven op het gebied van digitale transformatie, procesveiligheid en continue verbetering. Deze functie biedt je de kans om een belangrijke bijdrage te leveren aan de verdere ontwikkeling van onze Process Control- en Operational Technology (OT)-organisatie.

Het betreft een on-site functie in Rotterdam en je maakt deel uit van het lokale Process Control-team.

Verantwoordelijkheden:

Als Senior Process Control Engineer ben je verantwoordelijk voor:

  • Het waarborgen van een veilige en betrouwbare werking van DCS-, PLC-, SCADA-, SIS- en aanverwante OT-systemen.
  • Het aansturen van initiatieven op het gebied van OT-cybersecurity, systeemupgrades, back-ups en disaster recovery.
  • Het ondersteunen van projecten gericht op digitalisering, automatisering en procesoptimalisatie.
  • Het waarborgen van naleving van industriestandaarden zoals IEC 62443 en ISA-95.
  • Het samenwerken met Operations, Engineering, Maintenance en IT om de prestaties en betrouwbaarheid van de fabriek verder te verbeteren.
  • Het managen van externe leveranciers en technologiepartners.
  • Het begeleiden en ondersteunen van engineers en bijdragen aan de langetermijnontwikkeling van het team.

Wat zoeken wij?:

  • Een bachelor- of masterdiploma in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Process Control Engineering of een vergelijkbare technische richting.
  • Ruime ervaring met industriële automatisering en procesbesturing binnen een productieomgeving.
  • Sterke kennis van DCS, PLC, SIS, industriële netwerken en OT-cybersecurity.
  • Ervaring binnen de chemische industrie.
  • Kennis van ISA/IEC 62443.
  • TÜV Functional Safety-certificering.
  • Minimaal 10 jaar ervaring binnen industriële automatisering, procesbesturing of Operational Technology.
  • Kennis van alarmmanagement, optimalisatie van control loops, monitoring van procesprestaties en lifecycle management van automatiseringssystemen.
  • Ervaring met procesveiligheid, audits, naleving van wet- en regelgeving en corporate governance-standaarden.
  • Sterke vaardigheden op het gebied van stakeholdermanagement, communicatie, analyse en probleemoplossing.
  • Ervaring met project- en budgetmanagement en het vermogen om organisatorische veranderingen en digitale transformatie-initiatieven te begeleiden.

Role Overview:

We are currently looking for a Senior Process Control Engineer to provide technical and strategic leadership for our Industrial Automation & Control Systems (IACS) environment. In this role, you will lead the reliability, cybersecurity, and lifecycle management of critical manufacturing systems, while supporting digital transformation, process safety, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of our Process Control and Operational Technology function. This is an onsite role based in Rotterdam and part of the local Process Control team.

Role Responsibilities:

As a Senior Process Control Engineer, you will be responsible for:

· Ensure the safe and reliable operation of DCS, PLC, SCADA, SIS and related OT systems.

· Drive OT cybersecurity, system upgrades, backups and disaster recovery initiatives.

· Support digitalization, automation and process optimization projects.

· Ensure compliance with industry standards such as IEC 62443 and ISA95.

· Partner with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance and IT teams to improve plant performance.

· Manage external suppliers and technology partners.

· Mentor engineers and support the long-term development of the team.

What we are looking for:

· Bachelor's or Master's degree in Automation, Electrical, Chemical or Process Control Engineering.

· Extensive experience in industrial automation and process control within a manufacturing environment.

· Strong knowledge of DCS, PLC, SIS, industrial networking and OT cybersecurity.

· Experience in chemical manufacturing.

· Knowledge of ISA/IEC 62443.

· TÜV Functional Safety certification.

· A minimum of 10 years of experience in industrial automation, process control or Operational Technology.

· Knowledge of alarm management, control-loop optimization, process performance monitoring and automation lifecycle management.

· Experience supporting process safety, audits, regulatory compliance and corporate governance standards.

· Strong stakeholder management, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Project and budget management experience, with the ability to lead organizational change and digital transformation initiatives.
