Job Description:

Role Overview:

Are you an experienced EHS professional looking for an opportunity where you can make a visible impact, influence site culture and work closely with both operational teams and senior leaders?

Huntsman is looking for an EHS Manager to join our Duxford site in the UK. This is a key site leadership position with responsibility for EHS strategy, management systems, compliance and continuous improvement, alongside contributing to EHS initiatives across Huntsman’s UK network.

As a member of the Duxford Senior Leadership Team, you will work across the entire organisation, from colleagues on the shop floor to senior leadership, and engage directly with regulatory bodies including the HSE and Environment Agency.

We are looking for someone who brings together strong technical EHS expertise, confident leadership and a genuinely hands-on approach. You will have the opportunity to build relationships across the site, influence behaviours and help strengthen an already positive EHS culture.

Do you think you’re the right fit for this opportunity? Apply today!

Role Responsibilities:

As a EHS Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Acting as a member of the Duxford Senior Leadership Team and representing the site on EHS matters with regulatory bodies, emergency services and other third parties.
  • Managing the site's EHS Management System and driving the implementation of EHS strategy, improvement programmes and best practices.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable EHS legislation, Huntsman standards and the site's Upper Tier COMAH requirements.
  • Supporting Process Safety activities, including HAZOPs, risk assessments, PHRs and incident investigations.
  • Leading site inspections and audit programmes and ensuring EHS standards are maintained across operations.
  • Ensuring accidents, incidents and near misses are appropriately reported and investigated, identifying trends and supporting corrective actions.
  • Promoting safe behaviours and supporting the continued development of a positive EHS culture and Huntsman’s Zero Harm programme.
  • Taking accountability for environmental matters relating to the site and the effluent treatment plant.
  • Supporting emergency preparedness, fire protection, occupational hygiene monitoring and the site's EHS training plan.
  • Managing and developing the EHS Specialist.
  • Working with other Huntsman EHS professionals across the UK to share learnings, align ways of working and deliver improvements.
  • Remaining close to day-to-day operations and being willing to get involved in the detail when the site or team needs support.

Experience and Competencies:

What we are looking for:

  • University degree in a related discipline and NEBOSH qualification at Diploma level.
  • Knowledge of EHS legislation and its application within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with the Environment Agency, HSE or other regulatory authorities.
  • Experience or formal training in Process Safety.
  • Knowledge of EHS management systems, including ISO 14001.
  • Experience with Root Cause Investigation and relevant investigation techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and team-oriented approach.
  • Confidence engaging with people across different levels, from operational teams to senior leadership and external regulators.
  • A practical, hands-on mindset and willingness to get involved in operational detail when needed.
  • The ability to manage changing priorities, ambiguity and competing demands while remaining self-motivated and organised.
  • Strong focus on data and metrics.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
