About X-Force

Now, let’s talk about why we are here: X-Force. The team is made up of hackers, incident responders, researchers, and analysts — many recognized across industry for their technical leadership, threat research, and global intelligence expertise.

We are looking for Associate Threat Intelligence Consultants to join our cybersecurity consulting team. If you are passionate about understanding adversary behavior, malware analysis, cyber investigations, and emerging threats targeting organizations worldwide, this role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced intelligence analysts and security researchers on real-world security challenges affecting global clients.

At IBM Consulting, you’ll contribute to enterprise-scale threat intelligence operations that help organizations anticipate, understand, and respond to evolving cyber threats. You’ll gain exposure to malware analysis, threat hunting, digital forensics, intelligence research, AI-assisted security workflows, and modern threat intelligence platforms while developing technical and analytical expertise in a collaborative, mentorship-driven environment.

To give yourself the best opportunity for success, we advise applying only to roles that align with your skills and experience, rather than applying broadly across all entry-level positions. You'll receive a status update email for each application, so be sure to check your IBM Careers account regularly — it's the best way to get a centralized view of which roles you have active applications against.

Threat Intelligence focuses on understanding adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures to help protect people, data, applications, and infrastructure from evolving cyber threats.

As an Associate Threat Intelligence Consultant, you will help collect, process, analyze, and share cyber threat intelligence to support incident response teams, security analysts, and client stakeholders. You’ll contribute to meaningful projects that help organizations improve cyber resilience, identify emerging threats, and make informed security decisions.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Analyzing malware, dynamic analysis artifacts, attack patterns, and indicators of compromise in controlled environments.
  • Supporting threat intelligence investigations, threat hunting activities, and cyber threat assessments.
  • Researching adversary behaviors, emerging vulnerabilities, campaigns, and threat trends affecting clients and industries.
  • Contributing to technical reports, threat briefings, and intelligence summaries for both technical and business audiences.
  • Working with modern threat intelligence platforms, automation tools, scripting technologies, and AI-assisted cybersecurity analysis workflows.
  • Collaborating with incident responders, reverse engineers, and security researchers across global teams.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, analytical thinking, adaptability, and ownership in technical or project-based environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work in collaborative consulting environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical findings clearly.
  • Initiative to continuously learn new technologies, cybersecurity concepts, and threat intelligence methodologies.
  • Effective collaboration skills with the ability to work across teams and contribute to shared outcomes.
  • Working knowledge of scripting or programming languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, Java, .NET, or Ruby.
  • Exposure to scripting, automation, or development of reusable tools for cybersecurity analysis or research.
  • Familiarity with reverse engineering concepts and tools such as disassemblers or debuggers.
  • Understanding of Windows or Linux operating system internals and computer networking protocols.
  • Exposure to forensic analysis, memory analysis, malware analysis, or cyber investigative methodologies.
  • Interest in threat intelligence, adversary analysis, AI-assisted security operations, and emerging cybersecurity technologies.
  • Willingness to travel up to 100%.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in a related technical field (Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, MIS, Engineering, or related disciplines).
  • Knowledge or experience in cybersecurity domains such as Incident Response, Digital Forensics, Threat Hunting, Cloud Security, or Security Operations.
  • Exposure to AI tools, threat intelligence platforms, security research methodologies, or cybersecurity automation frameworks is a plus.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
