The posting

A career in IBM Consulting is built on long-term client relationships and close collaboration worldwide. You'll work with leading companies across industries, helping them shape their hybrid cloud and AI journeys. With support from our strategic partners, robust IBM technology, and Red Hat, you'll have the tools to drive meaningful change and accelerate client impact. At IBM Consulting, curiosity fuels success. You'll be encouraged to challenge the norm, explore new ideas, and create innovative solutions that deliver real results. Our culture of growth and empathy focuses on your long-term career development while valuing your unique skills and experiences.

What this internship is about

Join our consulting team for the summer and help organisations improve the way they work. This internship focuses on strategy, transformation and delivery, giving you the chance to work on real client challenges within a fast moving consulting environment.

You’ll join a cohort of interns working in small cross functional teams on real client challenges within one of our consulting sectors. Supported, coached, and mentored by consultants from across the UK business throughout the programme, your team will take ownership of a standalone project, exploring ideas, solving problems and adapting as the work evolves.

Because our projects are collaborative and fast moving, there isn’t one fixed role from day one. Instead, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute in different ways depending on the challenge, the client, your interests and where you can add the most value. Alongside your project work, you’ll gain exposure to different teams, consulting disciplines and ways of working across the IBM organisation.

Whether your interests are in business strategy, transformation, operations, agile delivery or project management, this internship offers hands on experience working as part of a consulting team.

We work collaboratively in a fast-moving environment, where roles and responsibilities evolve organically based on the needs of each project.

What you might do

• Support teams exploring business challenges and transformation opportunities

• Help structure research, analysis or project materials

• Assist with process mapping, planning or delivery activities

• Participate in client workshops, agile ceremonies or collaborative team sessions

• Support project coordination, stakeholder communication or sprint activities

• Contribute ideas to improve ways of working, processes or customer experiences

• Present findings, insights or recommendations in clear and engaging ways

Your experience will vary depending on the project, giving you the opportunity to learn from different people, approaches and ways of working.

What you’ll get

• Hands on experience working on a real consulting project from start to finish

• Exposure to strategy, business change and agile ways of working

• Opportunities to learn from consultants across different teams and disciplines

• Mentoring, coaching and support from consultants, buddies and early careers teams

• A collaborative environment where your ideas, curiosity and initiative are valued

• A clearer sense of whether a career in consulting and transformation is right for you

If you’re excited by problem solving, teamwork and helping organisations improve how they operate, we’d love to see your application.

Who you are

• Students due to graduate in 2027 or 2028

• Already able to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship available)

• Interested in business transformation, strategy or project delivery

• Strong communicator with a collaborative and organised approach

• Comfortable working with ambiguity and learning new concepts

• Curious, adaptable and motivated to grow in a team environment

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?

No. You pay once per CV, from $25. Every application goes out with its own CV, written for that posting.
