About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Lead DevOps Engineer to lead and mentor a team of DevOps Engineers and Trainees while driving the organization's cloud infrastructure, automation, platform reliability, and DevSecOps initiatives.

This role requires a strong technical leader with deep expertise in cloud platforms, CI/CD automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), container orchestration, cloud security, observability, and system engineering. The successful candidate will work closely with Development, QA, and Operations teams to ensure efficient software delivery, infrastructure scalability, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and provide technical guidance to DevOps Engineers and Trainees.
  • Design, implement, maintain, and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, ArgoCD, and GitHub Actions.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices, particularly Terraform.
  • Manage, monitor, and optimize cloud infrastructure across GCP, Azure, and AWS environments.
  • Oversee containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes, including managed platforms such as GKE and AKS.
  • Implement and enforce security best practices across cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and software delivery processes.
  • Collaborate closely with Development, QA, and Operations teams to ensure smooth software delivery and system reliability.
  • Lead incident response activities, root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and performance optimization initiatives.
  • Establish and enhance observability through monitoring, logging, alerting, and performance management systems.
  • Manage and optimize monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
  • Support cloud cost optimization, infrastructure scaling, capacity planning, and performance improvements.
  • Drive the adoption of DevSecOps, automation, and cloud-native engineering best practices.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of infrastructure reliability and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8+ years of professional experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, SecOps, System Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven hands-on experience managing cloud infrastructure, particularly GCP and/or Azure environments.
  • Strong experience with CI/CD tools, container platforms, and configuration management solutions.
  • Deep understanding of: Cloud Security Cloud Networking Cloud Database Services System Architecture Infrastructure Reliability Platform Engineering Scalability & Performance Optimization
  • Strong scripting experience using Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, mentoring, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional technology teams.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certifications in GCP, Azure, AWS, Kubernetes, or related technologies.
  • Strong experience with ArgoCD, Jenkins, and modern CI/CD practices.
  • Experience working in Agile development environments.
  • Practical experience implementing DevSecOps practices.
  • Exposure to modern cloud-native architectures and automated infrastructure environments.
