The posting

Our client, a growing B2B iGaming game provider based in Malta, is looking for an experienced Head of Legal to take ownership of the company’s legal function.

This is a hands-on, standalone role, ideal for someone comfortable operating independently and acting as the main legal point of contact across the business. The successful candidate will work closely with senior management and commercial teams, supporting the company across commercial agreements, regulatory matters, corporate governance and general legal matters.

What You'll Do

  • Take full ownership of the company's legal function, acting as the primary legal advisor to senior management and the wider business.
  • Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including operator agreements, distribution and aggregation agreements, supplier agreements, NDAs and other B2B contracts.
  • Support commercial teams during contract negotiations, balancing legal risk with the commercial objectives of the business.
  • Advise the business on iGaming regulatory and licensing matters across Malta and other relevant jurisdictions.
  • Monitor regulatory and legislative developments affecting the company and its products.
  • Manage corporate legal matters, including corporate governance, board documentation and company-related agreements.
  • Advise on intellectual property matters relating to games, software, brands, content and other company assets.
  • Support the business on data protection and privacy matters, including GDPR and contractual data protection requirements.
  • Identify and manage legal risks across the organisation and provide practical, commercially focused advice.
  • Develop and maintain legal templates, policies, processes and contract-management procedures.
  • Coordinate with external legal counsel and specialist advisors when required.
  • Support new market entries, partnerships and strategic projects from a legal and regulatory perspective.
  • Work closely with Compliance, Finance, Commercial, Product and senior leadership on matters requiring legal input.

What We're Looking For

  • Qualified lawyer with relevant professional qualifications.
  • Excellent level of English & Maltese languages
  • Ideally 5+ years of legal experience, with strong exposure to the iGaming industry.
  • Previous experience working with an iGaming B2B supplier, game provider, platform provider or similar technology business would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts.
  • Good understanding of the regulatory environment applicable to B2B iGaming suppliers.
  • Knowledge of Malta's iGaming regulatory framework and familiarity with other major regulated markets.
  • Experience with corporate, intellectual property, data protection and general commercial legal matters.
  • Commercial mindset with the ability to provide practical advice rather than purely theoretical legal guidance.
  • Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of the legal function within a one-person department.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the confidence to work directly with senior management and external partners.
  • Highly organised, pragmatic and able to manage multiple legal priorities simultaneously.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
