At JCB, we stand behind our products—and our name—with pride and commitment to quality.   Position Purpose The Training Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the training strategy for JCB’s Savannah manufacturing operations. This role works closely with plant leadership, Human Resources, Environmental Health and Safety, Quality, Engineering, Operations, and other functional teams to identify workforce capability needs and deliver effective training solutions. The Training Manager will build and maintain training programs that support employee safety, product quality, operational excellence, leadership development, regulatory compliance, and employee growth. This position oversees training execution across the plant, establishes consistent training standards, measures program effectiveness, and ensures employees have the knowledge and skills required to perform their roles safely and successfully. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires the ability to design training, facilitate programs, coach leaders and trainers, and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.   Position Type Full Time, Exempt Location Onsite: 2000 Bamford Blvd Pooler, Georgia 31322. The anticipated application window will close on October 30, 2026.   Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities Training Strategy and Program Leadership

Develop and execute a comprehensive plant training strategy aligned with operational priorities, workforce needs, and broader organizational objectives. Partner with functional leaders to identify training gaps, establish priorities, and recommend practical learning solutions. Create annual and ongoing training plans that support production requirements, new-hire readiness, employee development, and business growth. Provide guidance to plant leadership regarding training priorities, resource requirements, and workforce capability risks. Ensure training programs are scalable, sustainable, and aligned with the needs of a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Serve as the primary point of contact for plant-wide training initiatives and workforce development programs.

Manufacturing and Technical Training

Develop, coordinate, and oversee manufacturing training programs that support safe and effective job performance. Establish structured onboarding and qualification programs for new manufacturing employees. Partner with Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Safety to create and maintain standardized training materials, work instructions, job aids, and qualification requirements. Support technical and operational training related to manufacturing processes, equipment, quality standards, safety practices, and standard operating procedures. Build and maintain role-based training plans, skills matrices, certification requirements, and cross-training programs. Ensure employees are appropriately trained and qualified before independently performing assigned work. Support training needs related to new equipment, process changes, product launches, continuous improvement initiatives, and organizational changes. Promote consistency in how employees are trained, evaluated, and qualified across departments and shifts.

New-Hire Onboarding and Employee Development

Lead the development and continuous improvement of the plant’s new-hire orientation and manufacturing onboarding experience. Partner with Human Resources and Operations to ensure new employees receive consistent, timely, and role-specific training. Develop training programs that improve employee engagement, job readiness, productivity, retention, and career growth. Create development pathways for production employees, technical team members, trainers, supervisors, and emerging leaders. Support succession planning and internal talent development by identifying skill gaps and recommending targeted development opportunities. Design and deliver leadership, communication, coaching, interpersonal, customer service, team building, and performance management programs as needed.

Trainer and Leadership Development

Select, develop, coach, and evaluate trainers, subject-matter experts, and designated on-the-job trainers. Establish clear expectations and qualification standards for employees responsible for delivering or supporting training. Provide leaders with tools and guidance to reinforce training, evaluate employee proficiency, and address performance gaps. Facilitate train-the-trainer programs to strengthen instructional quality and consistency. Build strong relationships with employees and leaders across all levels of the Savannah plant. Promote an environment of continuous learning, accountability, and employee development.

Instructional Design and Training Delivery

Personally design and facilitate instructor-led, virtual, web-based, and on-the-job training programs. Apply adult-learning and instructional-design principles to create engaging and practical learning experiences. Determine the most effective delivery method based on the audience, content, operational environment, and desired outcome. Develop professional training materials, facilitator guides, participant materials, presentations, assessments, job aids, and reference tools. Incorporate hands-on practice, knowledge checks, demonstrations, and performance assessments into training programs. Ensure training materials are current, accurate, accessible, and aligned with approved procedures and business requirements. Coordinate translation or bilingual delivery of training materials when appropriate.

Training Administration, Compliance and Measurement

Maintain accurate training records, qualification documentation, attendance records, completion data, and required certifications. Ensure training documentation supports internal requirements, regulatory expectations, quality standards, and audit readiness. Monitor training completion and promptly communicate gaps or risks to the appropriate leaders. Establish metrics to evaluate training participation, knowledge retention, qualification progress, program effectiveness, and operational impact. Review training data and employee feedback to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Evaluate whether training programs achieve the intended business and performance outcomes. Prepare and present training updates, progress reports, and recommendations to plant leadership. Support internal and external audits by providing accurate training documentation and evidence of compliance. Manage training resources and external providers responsibly and within approved budget expectations.

External Partnerships and Resources

Identify and manage external consultants, vendors, educational institutions, and training providers when specialized support is required. Evaluate external programs for quality, relevance, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with JCB’s needs. Build partnerships that support technical skills development, leadership capability, and workforce readiness. Other duties as assigned

 Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Business, Operations Management, Industrial Technology, or a related field. Three to five years of relevant experience in training, learning and development, organizational development, or workforce development. At least two years of experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, production, distribution, or a related operational environment. Experience designing, facilitating, and evaluating employee training programs. Experience partnering with operational leaders to identify skill gaps and implement training solutions. Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects, priorities, and stakeholders. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and training-related technology. Must pass any drug screens, background checks, and any pre-employment tests, which will be conducted in accordance with applicable law.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, Business, or a related field. Five to seven years of progressive training, manufacturing, or workforce-development experience. Previous experience leading a training function, team, or plant-wide learning program. Experience developing manufacturing onboarding, technical qualification, on-the-job training, or train-the-trainer programs. Experience using a learning management system or other digital training platform. Experience supporting multiple shifts or a large hourly workforce. Knowledge of continuous-improvement principles and structured problem-solving methods. Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish preferred, with the ability to communicate and facilitate training effectively in both languages.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies

Strong knowledge of learning and development practices, adult-learning principles, and instructional design. Ability to translate operational requirements into practical, engaging, and measurable training programs. Strong understanding of training needs within a manufacturing or industrial environment. Ability to personally design and deliver leadership, technical, interpersonal, communication, customer service, and team-development training. Excellent facilitation, presentation, public speaking, and written communication skills. Strong coaching, consulting, and relationship-building capabilities. Ability to influence leaders and employees without relying solely on direct authority. Strong project-management, planning, prioritization, and organizational skills. Ability to analyze training data, assess program effectiveness, and make informed recommendations. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, changing production environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate training records. Ability to handle sensitive or confidential information appropriately. Proficiency in instructor-led, web-based, virtual, blended, and on-the-job training methods. Knowledge of current learning technologies and modern training-delivery methods. Commitment to safety, quality, accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and employee development. Ability to work collaboratively across functions, organizational levels, and shifts.

Must be able to work flexible schedule, including Friday - Sunday 6am -6pm  Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10lbs, frequently and/or move up to 35lbs, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50lbs. Must be able to perform continuous, repetitious physical activities.  These activities may involve fine movements or large motions. Must be able to grasp/pinch small items, reach out and up, and turn wrist. Must be capable of keeping pace with current production speed. Must be able to push/pull with reasonable force. Must be able to perform the following requirements of bending, stooping, climbing, kneeling, and standing for extended periods of time. Must be able to work in multiple climates including hot/cold temperatures, and dusty environment.
