La Segreteria generale (SG-DEFR) è l'organo di stato maggiore e di coordinamento del Dipartimento federale dell'economia, della formazione e della ricerca (DEFR). Offre consulenza e sostegno al capo del Dipartimento nello svolgimento delle sue attività quotidiane, è responsabile della pianificazione e del controllo dei dossier e fornisce prestazioni a tutto il Dipartimento nei settori Risorse umane, Finanze, Comunicazione, Informatica e Servizi linguistici.
