For this role, either English or French must be your native language, while you must also have a very good command of the other language. English and French are integrated naturally into the children-s daily routine. You will communicate with the children primarily in your native language and also introduce them to your second language through suitable activities and everyday interactions. The languages are not taught in the form of traditional classroom lessons. Instead, the children discover them naturally through conversations, play, songs, stories, rhymes, movement, creative activities and shared experiences. Your responsibilities Supporting the care, supervision and development of the children during their daily routine Communicating with the children naturally and confidently in your native language Introducing the second language through age-appropriate activities and everyday situations Planning and leading short, engaging language activities Singing songs and introducing rhymes, finger plays and movement games in English and French Reading and telling stories and picture books in both languages Organising creative, musical and physical activities Supporting the children during free play, meals, outings, rest periods and daily transitions Responding to the children-s individual ages, developmental stages, interests and needs Creating a warm, safe and encouraging environment in which children enjoy discovering new languages Working closely with the qualified childcare professionals and the group leader Supporting the implementation of the educational concept of Kita Glitzerfisch Contributing to the daily and weekly programme Participating in team meetings and internal discussions Following the childcare centre-s quality, hygiene and safety standards Helping to maintain order, cleanliness and a pleasant environment within the group Supporting the team with practical tasks arising during the childcare day Essential requirements Applications can only be considered if the following requirements are met: English or French is your native language You have a very good command of the other language and can use it confidently with children You communicate naturally and in an age-appropriate manner You already have practical experience caring for or working with children You enjoy supporting children and introducing them to languages through play and everyday interaction You are warm, patient, empathetic and respectful You work responsibly, reliably and independently You enjoy working as part of a team and communicate openly and professionally You are flexible, resilient and able to remain calm in a lively childcare environment You are willing to implement the educational concept and quality standards of Kita Glitzerfisch You are able to provide a current criminal record extract and a Swiss special private extract required for working with children A qualification in childcare, early childhood education or a related field is an advantage but is not essential. Your experience with children, personal suitability and ability to integrate languages naturally into everyday childcare are particularly important to us. Your profile You are a warm, open-minded and patient person who treats children with care, respect and appreciation. You use your native language naturally throughout the childcare day and are also comfortable introducing the children to your second language. Through stories, songs, play, movement and creative activities, you create positive and pressure-free language experiences. You understand that children learn languages in different ways and at different stages. You respond sensitively to their individual needs and encourage their curiosity and enjoyment of communication. You take responsibility, contribute actively to everyday childcare and remain calm and attentive even in busy situations.
