The UK Mission to the UN \\\& WTO in Geneva represents the interests and policies of the UK at many international organisations in Geneva and is recruiting a highly motivated Human Rights Intern. Are you ready to step into the world of international policy? At the UK Mission to the UN \\\& WTO in Geneva, you will play an active role at the heart of multilateral decision\\-making. The UK Mission in Geneva prioritises dignity and respect at work. We value respect, inclusiveness, empowerment, teamwork and kindness. \\Human Rights Intern (CHEG)\\ Main purpose of job: As our Human Rights Intern, you won't just observe---you'll contribute. You'll support the UK delegation's work with the United Nations, particularly the Human Rights Council, the Universal Periodic Review and the human rights treaty bodies, gaining first\\-hand experience of how Human Rights policy is negotiated and delivered. This internship offers a unique opportunity to participate in the UK Mission's human rights work as an integral part of the UK delegation, under the guidance of senior staff. The internship will offer a chance to learn about the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and about working on human rights issues in an international context. Roles and responsibilities: \* Attending and taking accurate and accessible records of official meetings of the Human Rights Council, the Universal Periodic Review, human rights treaty bodies, as well as other meetings at the UN, and drafting reports from such meetings. \* Administrative \\\& policy support to the Human Rights Team. \* Assisting with the organisation of events and meetings. \* Research and analytical work, preparing background information. \* Getting involved in corporate activities across the Mission ( major events such as the King's Birthday Party) \Because here, your work matters. You'll be part of a team representing the UK on key Human Rights issues---helping ensure that decisions taken internationally translate into real\\-world impact. Don't miss out on this opportunity!\ Our Ideal Candidate Shows: \* Degree in Human Rights, International Law, Diplomacy, International Relations, Political Science, or other relevant discipline; \* Strong interest in working in the human rights field and the UN; \* Very good computer skills (Microsoft Office Word and Outlook) \* Fluent written and spoken English (C1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages); \* The successful candidate needs to be highly motivated, flexible and a great team player; \* Excellent skills in communication, drafting and organisation; \* Willingness to undergo a mandatory security check.
