Die Abteilung [Klima- und Umweltphysik](https://www.climate.unibe.ch) gehört zum Physikalischen Institut. Unser Ziel: die Prozesse des Erdsystems von Jahreszeiten bis zu Millionen von Jahren zu verstehen.

**Aufgaben**

Die Abteilung Klima und Umweltphysik der Universität Bern sucht per 1. Januar 2027 oder nach Vereinbarung eine/n IT-Systemadministrator/in. Wir sind international führend auf dem Gebiet der Klimamodellierung, Klimarekonstruktion und Umweltphysik. Die wissenschaftliche Arbeit erfordert eine gut funktionierende und leistungsfähige Computerinfrastruktur. • Sie gestalten und betreiben die IT-Services der Abteilung für den operativen Betrieb. Dazu zählen mehrere Datenserversysteme, die virtuelle Serverumgebung, die Messlabore, externe Messstationen und rund 60 Arbeitsplätze (Windows/Linux/Mac). • Sie leisten 1st und 2nd-Level Benutzersupport. • Sie sind für die Überwachung sowie Instandhaltung der IT-Infrastruktur verantwortlich. • Sie planen die notwendigen Massnahmen und setzen diese für Software sowie Hardware um. • Sie stellen den Fernzugriff und Datentransfer von den externen Messstationen sicher. • Sie sind der Ansprechpartner für die zentralen Informatikdienste der Universität Bern und den IT-Verantwortlichen anderer Abteilungen. • Sie unterstützen bei Bedarf die Erdsystemmodellierungsgruppen beim wissenschaftlichen Programmieren. Die Stelle eignet sich bei ausreichenden Vorkenntnissen gut als Einstieg in die IT Systemadministration, wo Sie in einem universitären Umfeld die gesamte Breite der Systemadministration erlernen und anwenden können.

**Anforderungen**

* Erfahrung im Umgang mit Linux, Mac und Windows * Sehr gute Kenntnisse über den Terminal und Remotezugriff über SSH, Bash- Programmierung und üblichen Skriptsprachen wie Python * Administrationserfahrung mit Linux und Netzwerkkenntnisse sind von Vorteil, aber nicht Voraussetzung * Erfahrungen mit Ansible, Proxmox VE, Ceph und Fortran sind von Vorteil * Eine zielorientierte, exakte sowie dienstleistungsorientierte Arbeitsweise * sehr gute Englischkenntnisse
