Your Purpose ##
Turn approved deployment plans into executable, commercially ready cruise itineraries. Drawing on your seagoing experience as a Chief Officer and your knowledge of our ships and ports, you will build detailed cruise schedules and ensure their accurate setup in planning, commercial and booking systems, supporting a smooth transition from itinerary development to sale opening and operational delivery.
Your Impact ##
- Execute detailed cruise itineraries based on approved deployment plans and the port availability and requirements provided by your manager, who leads port relations and availability coordination.
- Match MSC ships to suitable ports, taking into account vessel characteristics, nautical restrictions, port infrastructure and operational requirements.
- Build feasible cruise schedules, arrival and departure times, turnaround requirements and time available for shore experiences.
- Create and maintain itineraries in relevant commercial and booking systems, ensuring accurate and consistent ship assignments, port sequences, dates and timings.
- Translate confirmed port information and operational constraints into itinerary updates, coordinating changes with the relevant teams.
- Work closely with Planning, Ports, Maritime, Revenue, Commercial, Marketing, Shore Excursions and IT to ensure itineraries are correctly configured and ready for sale.
- Track outstanding information, approvals and system dependencies; escalate feasibility issues or readiness gaps and follow corrective actions through to resolution.
- Prepare accurate itinerary documentation and support operational handover, ensuring teams have the information needed to deliver the planned cruise.
- Review itinerary performance and operational feedback to improve future schedules and reduce setup errors.
Your Journey so far ##
- Previous seagoing experience as a Chief Officer is mandatory.
- Strong practical knowledge of cruise itinerary planning, port operations and vessel operating requirements.
- Knowledge of MSC ships and itineraries, including the operational suitability of individual vessels for specific ports.
- Experience translating nautical and operational constraints into feasible voyage schedules.
- Experience working with detailed planning data and coordinating implementation across multiple functions.
- A qualification in Maritime Studies, Nautical Science or a related discipline.
Your Essentials ##
- Ability to assess ship-port compatibility, sailing-time feasibility and port-call requirements.
- Strong attention to detail when creating, checking and updating itinerary data.
- Proficiency in itinerary planning and commercial or booking systems; familiarity with DTS is an advantage.
- Strong coordination, problem-solving and organisational skills, with the ability to manage deadlines and follow actions through to completion.
- Fluent English, written and spoken.
