The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Associate Director, Quality Engineering - Home Solutions based in the United States.

This is a senior quality engineering leadership role responsible for delivering consistent, measurable quality across a portfolio of products, applications, and agile delivery teams. You will lead quality engineering professionals while partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Architecture, Platform, DevOps, and enterprise quality teams. The role focuses on strengthening automation, release readiness, testing practices, and continuous improvement throughout the software development lifecycle. You will use quality metrics and production outcomes to identify risks, reduce defects and rework, and improve delivery confidence. The position also provides an opportunity to modernize quality engineering through reusable frameworks, CI/CD integration, and AI-assisted testing capabilities. You will operate in a collaborative, matrixed environment where technical leadership, people development, and cross-functional influence are equally important. Success will be measured through stronger quality signals, more reliable releases, improved automation, and high-performing engineering teams.

Accountabilities

  • Lead quality engineering execution across a defined portfolio of applications, products, and agile delivery teams.
  • Manage, coach, and develop quality engineering leaders, engineers, and SDETs, with accountability for engagement, performance, and career growth.
  • Implement quality engineering standards, governance, and practices established by segment and enterprise leadership.
  • Direct quality planning and execution across functional, integration, end-to-end, regression, and release validation activities.
  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and delivery leaders to embed quality considerations into planning, design, development, testing, and release processes.
  • Oversee defect management, including triage coordination, trend analysis, root-cause follow-up, and corrective action tracking.
  • Lead release readiness assessments and ensure appropriate validation is completed before production deployments.
  • Increase automation adoption by expanding sustainable regression coverage and improving testing efficiency.
  • Partner with engineering and platform teams to integrate automated validations and quality checks into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Coordinate non-functional quality activities covering performance, resiliency, operational readiness, and security validation.
  • Monitor quality metrics, delivery trends, and production outcomes to identify systemic risks and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Escalate portfolio-level quality concerns, delivery risks, and capacity constraints to senior quality leadership.
  • Contribute to quality engineering modernization through enterprise tools, reusable frameworks, improved processes, and innovative delivery practices.
  • Enable responsible AI-assisted quality engineering within established governance, including capabilities such as test generation, risk-based prioritization, defect clustering, summarization, and self-healing recommendations.
  • Ensure AI-generated outputs are appropriately validated, traceable where required, and aligned with security, privacy, and compliance expectations.
  • Share AI adoption insights, lessons learned, and capability needs with segment leadership.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, quality engineering, testing, or related technical disciplines.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing quality engineering, test automation, or software delivery teams in enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading quality engineering across multiple agile teams or complex applications.
  • Proven ability to improve quality engineering practices through automation, process optimization, and metrics-driven execution.
  • Strong understanding of Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD methodologies.
  • Experience with API, UI, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing approaches.
  • Familiarity with distributed systems and modern application architectures.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence product, engineering, and operational partners.
  • Experience operating successfully within matrixed organizations and coordinating distributed teams.
  • Experience in healthcare or another highly regulated industry is preferred.
  • Familiarity with member, provider, digital experience, or enterprise platform environments is a plus.
  • Experience with enterprise quality tools, test management platforms, and engineering lifecycle tools is preferred.
  • Knowledge of microservices, APIs, event-driven systems, and cloud-native architectures is advantageous.
  • Experience supporting non-functional testing, particularly performance and resiliency, is a plus.
  • Exposure to AI-enabled quality engineering or intelligent automation capabilities is desirable.
  • Familiarity with enterprise architecture principles across cloud, hybrid, on-premises, and SaaS environments is beneficial.
  • Ability to work effectively from a dedicated home-office environment with reliable internet connectivity; occasional travel for meetings or training may be required.
  • Annual base salary of $142,300–$195,700, with actual compensation determined by location, qualifications, skills, experience, education, certifications, and other job-related factors.
  • Eligibility for a performance-based bonus incentive plan.
  • Remote work opportunity with occasional travel for training or meetings.
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan.
  • Paid time off, company holidays, and personal holidays.
  • Paid parental and caregiver leave.
  • Short-term and long-term disability coverage.
  • Life insurance.
  • Programs supporting personal wellness, healthcare decision-making, and financial well-being.
  • Career development and professional growth opportunities.
  • Workplace accommodations and equal employment opportunities for qualified applicants.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
