This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Asst. Area Sales Manager based in India.

This role focuses on driving regional sales growth, strengthening customer relationships, and expanding business opportunities across key appliance and industrial markets. You will manage strategic accounts, develop opportunity pipelines, and support growth initiatives from early concepts through production. The position combines sales leadership, market analysis, account planning, and technical understanding of electronics and electrical architectures. You will work closely with OEM product engineering, operations, and other internal teams to deliver strong customer outcomes. The role requires a strategic and analytical approach to identifying market trends, competitor activity, and opportunities to increase business content. It offers a collaborative environment for an experienced professional who can balance commercial objectives with technical and customer requirements.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead and manage regional sales and marketing activities, with responsibility for driving business growth and achieving sales objectives.
  • Develop lasting customer relationships and identify business trends and opportunities for growth through initiatives such as design-in, drop-in, and share-gain programs.
  • Develop and execute customer engagement activities, including tradeshows, seminars, and technology days.
  • Prepare accurate sales forecasts to support effective planning of resources and products.
  • Manage receivables and payment collection efficiently, including responsibility for DSO performance.
  • Negotiate and close customer deals and contracts while providing operational guidance to relevant functional teams to support smooth implementation.
  • Develop detailed account plans for key customers and maintain a strong pipeline of new business opportunities.
  • Manage opportunities through each stage of the sales cycle, from initial concept through production, by coordinating across internal and customer teams.
  • Track and manage key sales metrics in SFDC, including pipeline, conversion, and must-win opportunities.
  • Deliver a strong customer experience and maintain effective relationships across customer organizations.
  • Conduct competitor and market analysis to identify growth opportunities and inform commercial strategy.
  • Analyze business verticals within HVAC and appliances, including refrigeration and washing machines, and develop strategies to increase product content.
  • Work closely with OEM product engineering and operations teams to align technical and commercial objectives.
  • Understand customer requirements, market dynamics, and competitive positioning to develop both short- and long-term growth tactics.
  • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field, with a minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible professional experience; a Master’s degree or local equivalent may be preferred.
  • Experience combining sales and engineering responsibilities is preferred.
  • Background working for a component supplier is preferred.
  • Experience working with appliance OEMs is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of the appliance industry, particularly HVAC and related appliance sub-segments such as refrigeration and washing machines.
  • Understanding of electronics and electrical architectures, wiring harnesses, and connectors.
  • Ability to understand OEM working cultures, competitive positioning, and market dynamics in detail.
  • Strong strategic, tactical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities and develop effective growth strategies.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build productive relationships quickly across functions and organizational levels.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with OEM product engineering, operations, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Strong customer relationship management and negotiation capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple commercial priorities and opportunities.
  • Flexibility to work through hybrid or work-from-home arrangements.
  • Flexible working arrangements, including hybrid and work-from-home options.
