This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Bid Strategy Lead based in Canada.
This is a high-impact bid leadership role focused on shaping how a growing health technology organization responds to complex public-sector and enterprise opportunities. You’ll own the full RFP lifecycle, from intake and bid/no-bid decisions through response development, submission, and post-bid debriefs. As the first dedicated bid professional, you’ll bring structure, consistency, quality, and scalable processes to major opportunities. You’ll work across Sales, Executive Leadership, Product, Clinical, Technology, Security, Legal, Finance, and Delivery teams. The role combines strategic bid management, persuasive writing, rigorous project coordination, and commercial awareness. You’ll also build the content, systems, and processes that enable teams to respond faster and more effectively over time.
Accountabilities:
- Own the end-to-end bid and RFP process, continuously improving it based on lessons learned from each opportunity.
- Act as the primary coordinator across Sales, executives, Clinical, Product, Technology, Security, Legal, Finance, and Delivery.
- Run bid/no-bid processes with Sales, considering opportunity fit, potential to win, and available organizational capacity.
- Develop detailed response plans, including compliance matrices, section ownership, internal deadlines, and review stages.
- Write and edit proposal responses, transforming technical, clinical, product, and delivery input into clear, persuasive, and compliant answers.
- Coordinate commercial and pricing sections with Finance and senior commercial leadership through the appropriate approval processes.
- Build and maintain a reusable content library covering approved responses, security and privacy questionnaires, references, case studies, and team CVs.
- Evaluate and recommend an RFP management platform and lead its implementation to improve response speed and consistency.
- Own RFP intake and maintain a 12-month submission calendar while monitoring procurement portals for new opportunities.
- Manage final formatting, forms, compliance checks, and on-time submission of proposals.
- Support oral presentations, demonstrations, and clarification rounds alongside account teams.
- Run lessons-learned reviews following every bid outcome and track key metrics such as submissions, win rate, and response cycle time.
- Establish scalable processes that increase content reuse, improve response quality, and help commercial teams focus on selling and executive leadership.
- 5+ years of experience in bid or proposal management, ideally within health technology, public sector, enterprise software, or professional services.
- Demonstrated experience managing large, complex public-sector RFPs from end to end, including responses exceeding 100 pages and involving numerous contributors.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to turn technical, clinical, and business input into clear, persuasive, and compliant responses.
- Strong project management skills, with a proven ability to coordinate multiple contributors, deadlines, review stages, and competing priorities without missing submissions.
- Working knowledge of Canadian public procurement processes.
- Confidence working with senior executives and holding stakeholders accountable to deadlines and deliverables.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership, and create structure in an evolving environment.
- APMP certification is a plus.
- Knowledge of healthcare, virtual care, or pharmacy is advantageous.
- Experience with US state or Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) procurement is a plus.
- Familiarity with security and privacy questionnaires and frameworks such as SOC 2, PHIPA, or HIPAA is beneficial.
- Experience with proposal management platforms such as Loopio or Responsive is an advantage.
- French language skills are a plus.
- Competitive salary of $90,000–$110,000 CAD annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
- Fully remote work environment across Canada.
- Toronto headquarters available for in-person collaboration, connection, and team events when valuable.
- Comprehensive benefits package.
- 4 weeks of paid vacation.
- 6 personal days.
- Meaningful work with a direct connection to patient care and healthcare outcomes.
- Opportunities for professional growth and development through mentorship.
- Collaborative culture built around teamwork, integrity, innovation, meaningful impact, and continuous learning.
- Opportunity to establish and shape a dedicated bid management function and its processes.
- Opportunity to work across healthcare technology, public-sector procurement, and complex enterprise opportunities.
- Canadian work experience is not required for the role.
