This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Business Development Representative based in the United States.

The Business Development Representative will play a key role in generating new sales opportunities and expanding the adoption of innovative government technology solutions. In this role, you will identify prospective customers, qualify inbound leads, and engage decision-makers across federal, state, and local government organizations. Working closely with sales and marketing teams, you will build relationships, uncover customer needs, and help develop a strong sales pipeline. You will use strategic outreach, discovery conversations, and data-driven prospecting to move potential opportunities through the sales funnel. This position offers valuable exposure to consultative selling, territory planning, and customer relationship management within the GovTech sector. It is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious, results-oriented professional looking to develop a long-term career in technology sales. The role is remote-first, with optional office access for employees located near company hubs.

Accountabilities:

  • Generate new business opportunities through phone calls, emails, and targeted outreach to introduce prospects to government technology solutions.
  • Qualify prospective customers by understanding their existing environment, business challenges, potential projects, and technology needs.
  • Identify key decision-makers and buying influencers within target organizations, including their budgets, priorities, and purchasing timelines.
  • Follow up with inbound marketing leads and outbound prospects through structured outreach strategies to generate interest and qualify potential opportunities.
  • Build and nurture prospect relationships through consistent communication and follow-up, moving qualified opportunities through the sales funnel.
  • Partner with Sales Executives to develop strategic territory plans and expand the sales pipeline.
  • Support quarterly sales and revenue objectives by consistently generating qualified opportunities and meeting activity targets.
  • Use Salesforce or another customer relationship management (CRM) platform to track sales activities and maintain accurate contact and lead records.
  • Analyze pipeline reports and dashboards to monitor performance, identify trends, and support sales planning.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing colleagues to improve prospect engagement and coordinate business development activities.
  • Protect confidential information and customer and employee data by following applicable information security, data privacy, and training requirements.
  • At least 1 year of relevant professional experience.
  • Previous work or internship experience in sales or marketing, or a degree in business, communications, or a related field.
  • A demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales activity targets and performance metrics.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to engage prospective clients professionally.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective problem-solving, time management, and organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with Salesforce or another CRM platform is preferred.
  • A proactive, ambitious, and results-driven approach to prospecting and lead qualification.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively with sales and marketing teams in a remote-first environment.
  • A willingness to learn, adapt, and develop consultative selling skills.
  • Hourly pay of $24.04 USD.
  • Flexible paid time off.
  • Company-wide paid well-being days.
  • Work-from-home reimbursement to support a productive home office.
  • Multiple health insurance plan options, including one fully paid by the employer.
  • Employer contributions to a Health Savings Account (HSA) for eligible employees enrolled in a High-Deductible Health Plan.
  • Fitness reimbursement program.
  • On-demand mental health support through Headspace and other wellness resources.
  • Paid parental leave for birthing and non-birthing parents.
  • Traditional and Roth 401(k) retirement plans with a company match.
  • Employer-paid life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance.
  • Access to online learning platforms and professional development resources.
  • Bonus opportunities.
  • Remote-first working environment, with optional office access for employees located near company hubs.
  • An inclusive workplace culture supported by employee resource groups, wellness communities, and opportunities to engage with leadership.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
