The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director of Corporate FP&A based in the United States.

Take on a strategic finance leadership role where you will shape company-wide financial planning, guide executive decision-making, and drive sustainable business growth. You will own the integrated financial plan, overseeing forecasting, budgeting, cash planning, and long-range financial strategy in a fast-growing technology environment. Working directly with executive leadership, including the CEO, you will translate complex financial data into actionable insights that influence business priorities and investment decisions. You will lead financial partnerships across go-to-market and research and development functions, helping optimize growth, profitability, and resource allocation. This role also offers the opportunity to build a high-performing FP&A team, modernize planning systems, and leverage AI to improve analytical efficiency and decision quality. If you thrive in dynamic environments that reward ownership, rigorous thinking, and measurable impact, this is an opportunity to shape both financial strategy and organizational performance.

Accountabilities

  • Lead, develop, and scale the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) and Strategic Finance function, establishing clear priorities, strong operating standards, and effective team structures.
  • Own the integrated company-wide financial plan, including annual budgets, long-range planning, driver-based forecasts, headcount planning, revenue projections, operating expenses, investments, and cash flow.
  • Translate financial analysis into clear recommendations, helping executive leaders understand the financial implications, trade-offs, and potential outcomes of strategic decisions.
  • Drive performance management through regular forecasting cycles, monthly business reviews, budget-owner discussions, and variance analysis, identifying emerging trends and ensuring timely corrective action.
  • Partner closely with go-to-market (GTM) and research and development (R&D) leaders on pricing strategies, unit economics, growth investments, infrastructure spending, and resource allocation.
  • Develop robust financial models, scenario analyses, and planning frameworks to assess business performance, evaluate strategic alternatives, and support long-term growth.
  • Lead executive and Board-level financial reporting, presenting clear, data-driven insights and recommendations that support business planning and governance.
  • Support fundraising and financing activities through financial projections, scenario modeling, due diligence preparation, and the development of consistent financial narratives.
  • Improve financial planning systems, reporting infrastructure, data quality, and operational workflows, including the use of Pigment or comparable planning platforms.
  • Integrate AI-powered tools into financial analysis and recurring workflows to improve productivity, strengthen analytical quality, and enable more scalable finance operations.
  • Identify important business challenges proactively, develop well-supported points of view, and influence senior stakeholders to make timely, accountable decisions.
  • Remain hands-on with complex financial analyses and high-priority initiatives while establishing processes and developing talent to support the organization's continued growth.
  • Demonstrated experience independently owning company-wide FP&A and Strategic Finance in a growing technology business, combining corporate financial planning expertise with meaningful business partnership responsibilities.
  • A strong track record of identifying business challenges proactively, developing defensible recommendations, and influencing executive stakeholders to take action.
  • Experience building, leading, and developing high-performing finance teams, including hiring talent, coaching emerging leaders, setting priorities, and creating operational leverage within lean organizations.
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, including driver-based forecasting, integrated financial statements, cash flow planning, scenario analysis, and a thorough understanding of underlying business assumptions.
  • Proven ability to translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights for executive leadership and Board audiences.
  • Experience preparing, presenting, and defending financial recommendations, performance updates, and strategic plans to senior decision-makers.
  • Demonstrated practical proficiency with AI tools in analytical work, including using AI to solve problems, validate outputs, improve recurring workflows, increase productivity, and maintain high standards of accuracy.
  • Experience improving financial planning systems, data quality, reporting processes, and operational workflows. Familiarity with Pigment or comparable financial planning platforms is beneficial.
  • Strong business judgment and the ability to make sound decisions in ambiguous, fast-changing environments while remaining willing to work directly in the details when needed.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across finance, GTM, R&D, and executive teams.
  • Experience in enterprise software-as-a-service (SaaS), complex customer contracts, significant financing transactions, or public-company readiness initiatives is an advantage.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a high-growth, distributed-first organization that values urgency, accountability, experimentation, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • A proactive, adaptable, and impact-oriented mindset, with a strong commitment to analytical rigor, high-quality execution, and continuous learning.
  • Remote-first flexibility: Work remotely from an eligible location in the United States within a distributed-first organization.
  • Competitive compensation: Salary and overall compensation details to be discussed during the recruitment process, as the original posting does not specify a salary range for this position.
  • Meaningful leadership opportunities: Build and shape the corporate FP&A and Strategic Finance function while working directly with executive leadership.
  • Strategic business impact: Influence company-wide financial strategy, investment decisions, resource allocation, and long-term business performance.
  • Professional growth: Develop leadership capabilities while working on complex financial planning, strategic analysis, and business transformation initiatives.
  • AI-driven innovation: Apply advanced AI tools to financial workflows, analytical processes, and decision-making to improve efficiency and scale.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with senior leaders across finance, go-to-market, product, and research and development.
  • High-ownership environment: Take responsibility for meaningful initiatives, contribute to important company decisions, and see the direct impact of your work.
  • Mission-driven culture: Contribute to a broader mission focused on using technology and intelligence to help prevent crime and create a safer world.
  • Continuous learning and development: Work in an environment that values experimentation, rigorous problem-solving, constructive feedback, and ongoing improvement.
  • Collaborative leadership culture: Join a team that emphasizes customer impact, strong professional standards, accountability, clear communication, and shared success.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
