This role provides essential operational support for manuscript submissions and peer review within a global academic publishing environment. You will manage assigned manuscripts from detailed scope and submission checks through reviewer selection and peer review coordination. • Review submissions for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to established editorial standards and policies.
  • Identify, source, invite, and assign appropriate reviewers and Article Editors for submitted manuscripts.
  • Support Article Editors throughout peer review, including reviewer invitations, assignment management, follow-ups, and review completion activities.
  • Monitor manuscript progress and ensure submissions move efficiently through the appropriate workflow stages.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to emails, service tickets, and stakeholder enquiries, generally within agreed service levels of 48 hours, excluding weekends and public holidays.
  • Communicate effectively with authors, reviewers, editors, and internal colleagues while maintaining a consistently professional and service-oriented approach.
  • Proactively follow up on pending actions, overdue reviews, and workflow requirements to keep manuscripts progressing.
  • Manage assigned workloads while meeting productivity, turnaround-time, accuracy, and quality expectations.
  • Identify workflow issues, system challenges, and process gaps, escalating matters appropriately and supporting troubleshooting when required.
  • Follow established editorial policies, operational procedures, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across India, the UK, the US, and other global locations through email, reporting, meetings, and virtual collaboration.
  • Participate in team meetings, training, knowledge-sharing activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Build knowledge of peer review processes, editorial policies, and publishing best practices, sharing guidance or training with colleagues when appropriate.
  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
  • Experience in academic publishing, editorial support, customer service, operations, or a related field is preferred; strong fresh graduates may also be considered.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with international authors, reviewers, editors, and colleagues.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when reviewing manuscript files, metadata, and workflow information.
  • Good computer proficiency and the ability to learn and work confidently with multiple systems and workflow tools.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing tasks and manage multiple manuscripts simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities, including the judgment to identify issues and escalate them appropriately.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to responsive, professional, and high-quality service.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a geographically distributed team.
  • Proactive learning mindset and willingness to develop knowledge of editorial workflows, peer review, and publishing practices.
  • Hybrid working environment in Gurugram, India.
  • Full-time employment.
  • Opportunity to work within a global academic publishing and peer review environment.
  • Exposure to international stakeholders across India, the UK, the US, and other locations.
  • Opportunity to develop expertise in manuscript management, peer review coordination, editorial operations, and publishing workflows.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
