The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Electrical Engineering Expert based in Canada.

In this fully remote, part-time contract role, you will contribute to the development and evaluation of advanced artificial intelligence systems by creating realistic electrical engineering tasks. You will apply your practical expertise in circuit design, electronics development, PCB design, and electrical simulations to assess how accurately AI agents perform professional engineering workflows. Your work will involve validating technical calculations, identifying design errors, and developing reliable reference solutions. You will also help establish clear evaluation criteria that measure technical accuracy, completeness, and engineering judgment. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced electrical engineering professional who enjoys solving complex technical problems and exploring the intersection of engineering and AI. The initial project is expected to last two months, with the possibility of extension.

Accountabilities

  • Design realistic electrical engineering tasks covering electronics development, circuit analysis, and electrical systems design.
  • Create and review electrical schematics, circuit diagrams, PCB layouts, and technical specifications.
  • Develop tasks involving analog and digital circuit design, component selection, and electrical system optimization.
  • Perform and validate electrical calculations related to voltage, current, power, impedance, and signal behavior.
  • Use circuit simulation tools to evaluate system performance, troubleshoot issues, and identify potential design flaws.
  • Assess PCB layouts for connectivity, component placement, electrical constraints, and manufacturing feasibility.
  • Identify incorrect component specifications, circuit faults, design inconsistencies, and missing technical requirements.
  • Develop reproducible reference solutions with validated calculations, simulation results, and clearly documented assumptions.
  • Evaluate AI-generated engineering designs and analyses for technical accuracy, completeness, and compliance with requirements.
  • Collaborate with technical contributors to create consistent assessment tasks and objective evaluation criteria.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Substantial professional experience in electrical systems, electronics development, or circuit design.
  • Strong understanding of circuit theory, electronic components, and core electrical engineering principles.
  • Hands-on experience with circuit design or simulation tools such as KiCad, Altium Designer, LTspice, Multisim, or OrCAD.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics, component datasheets, PCB layouts, and technical specifications.
  • Experience performing electrical calculations and verifying circuit behavior through analysis or simulation.
  • Strong technical problem-solving abilities, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to document engineering decisions, explain technical concepts clearly, and develop reproducible solutions.
  • Strong written English communication skills.
  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience with PCB manufacturing, testing, and design verification.
  • Familiarity with embedded systems, microcontrollers, or digital electronics.
  • Knowledge of signal processing, power electronics, or control systems.
  • Experience using MATLAB, Python, or other tools for electrical engineering automation.
  • Previous experience developing technical assessments or reviewing AI-generated engineering outputs.
  • Compensation: US$30–$60 per hour, depending on expertise and project requirements.
  • Remote flexibility: Work remotely from Brazil.
  • Part-time commitment: Approximately 20 hours per week.
  • Contract duration: Initial two-month project, with potential for extension.
  • Immediate start: The role is available for an immediate start.
  • AI and engineering exposure: Apply your technical expertise to challenging projects at the intersection of electrical engineering and advanced AI.
  • Additional benefits: Healthcare, paid leave, and other employment benefits are not specified for this contract position.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
