The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Legal Expert based in Brazil.

We are seeking a Legal Expert to help shape the future of artificial intelligence by developing realistic legal tasks that evaluate the capabilities of advanced AI systems. In this remote, contract-based role, you will apply your legal expertise to complex research, contract analysis, regulatory interpretation, and litigation-related workflows. You will create high-quality tasks, establish reliable reference solutions, and define objective criteria for assessing AI-generated legal analyses. Your work will help improve the accuracy, reasoning, and reliability of AI systems handling professional legal tasks. You will collaborate with technical contributors in a research-oriented environment that values precision, critical thinking, and clear legal reasoning. This opportunity is ideal for legal professionals interested in applying their expertise to emerging AI technologies.

Accountabilities

  • Design realistic legal tasks reflecting professional workflows in legal research, contract analysis, litigation support, and regulatory review.
  • Analyze contracts, legal agreements, statutes, regulations, case law, and other legal documents to identify relevant issues and obligations.
  • Develop tasks involving legal research, document classification, issue identification, and contractual interpretation.
  • Prepare legal research summaries, case analyses, compliance assessments, and structured document reviews.
  • Identify conflicting provisions, missing clauses, inconsistent terminology, and potential legal risks in complex documentation.
  • Evaluate the accuracy, relevance, and authority of legal citations, precedents, and statutory references.
  • Develop reference solutions supported by authoritative legal sources, transparent reasoning, and clearly documented assumptions.
  • Review AI-generated legal analyses for accuracy, completeness, logical consistency, and relevance to the applicable jurisdiction.
  • Collaborate with technical contributors to create reproducible legal tasks and establish clear, objective evaluation criteria.
  • Work with public, synthetic, or appropriately authorized documents while maintaining confidentiality and respecting legal privilege requirements.
  • A law degree or a bachelor's degree in a relevant field combined with substantial professional experience in legal research, legal operations, or litigation support.
  • Significant professional experience in at least one relevant legal discipline.
  • Strong understanding of legal research methodologies, legal reasoning, and legal document interpretation.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing contracts, regulations, legal filings, case law, or related legal materials.
  • Ability to distinguish authoritative legal sources from unsupported claims, outdated information, and unreliable references.
  • Familiarity with legal citation standards and jurisdiction-specific legal requirements.
  • Excellent analytical and critical-thinking skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret complex legal documentation and communicate legal conclusions clearly and logically.
  • Strong written English communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage research-oriented tasks, and deliver accurate, well-structured outputs in a remote environment.
  • An advanced degree in law or a related discipline, such as a JD, LLM, or master's degree.
  • Professional legal licensure or bar admission in a relevant jurisdiction.
  • Experience in corporate law, commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, litigation, or intellectual property.
  • Familiarity with legal research platforms such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, or Bloomberg Law.
  • Experience with e-discovery, contract lifecycle management, or legal document automation.
  • Experience reviewing large collections of legal documents or conducting detailed regulatory research.
  • Previous involvement in evaluating AI-generated legal analyses, legal technology applications, or legal research benchmarks.
  • Competitive hourly compensation: The detailed role description specifies a rate of US$30–60 per hour, while the broader listing advertises a range of US$40–120 per hour. The applicable rate will need to be confirmed during recruitment.
  • Remote flexibility: Work remotely from Brazil, with location eligibility subject to the engagement terms.
  • Part-time commitment: Approximately 20 hours per week, offering flexibility alongside other professional commitments.
  • Contract opportunity: An initial project duration of approximately two months, with the possibility of extension.
  • Immediate start: The role is intended for candidates who are available to begin promptly.
  • AI innovation exposure: Apply your legal expertise to the development and evaluation of advanced AI systems.
  • Specialized professional experience: Contribute to legal research benchmarks, structured evaluation methods, and emerging legal technology workflows.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
