Strong knowledge of nonprofit finance, government funding requirements, and Uniform Guidance is important for success. This is a full-time remote U.S. position requiring reliable connectivity, proximity to an airport, and occasional domestic travel.

Accountabilities

  • Support program directors in developing, monitoring, and managing budgets for multiple resettlement and community programs.
  • Collaborate closely with the central Finance team on financial matters affecting program operations and ensure consistent application of financial policies, protocols, and standards.
  • Ensure program financial activities comply with applicable federal funding requirements and Uniform Guidance.
  • Coordinate with Finance and financial projections teams to develop and manage recurring financial reports, forecasts, and financial planning activities.
  • Analyze program budgets and spending trends and provide recommendations to program directors regarding budget management and resource allocation.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive financial records and establish systems for tracking program revenue and expenses, including those of subgrantees.
  • Liaise regularly with implementing sites, program finance teams, and headquarters stakeholders to ensure timely submission of required financial reports and resolve reporting or financial issues.
  • Monitor monthly expenses across national programs and individual program sites to ensure spending remains aligned with approved budgets.
  • Advise program directors on available funding and staffing allocations and ensure salary allocations are accurately reflected in financial records.
  • Develop guidance, templates, and tracking tools for financial documentation and provide technical assistance to program teams on their effective use.
  • Produce monthly spending reports for program sites and support ongoing budget review and financial monitoring.
  • Create new budgets, financial templates, and reporting tools as program requirements evolve.
  • Provide training to headquarters staff and program teams on budget review, financial processes, and program finance practices.
  • Review and analyze actual-versus-budget performance on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis across active projects.
  • Prepare and conduct the financial components of site visits, monitoring activities, and evaluations of subgrantees.
  • Support preparation for audits conducted by federal funders and help ensure appropriate financial documentation is available.
  • Develop and maintain sound accounting procedures and financial management practices across supported programs.
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Finance or possess equivalent professional experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Bring at least 6 years of professional experience in nonprofit accounting or finance, with strong knowledge of nonprofit financial management practices.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with OMB Uniform Guidance and federally funded program requirements.
  • Possess strong financial management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Have experience working with financial management systems and using data to support budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and decision-making.
  • Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy when working with financial information.
  • Familiarity with government and private funding requirements, contracts, and compliance obligations is preferred.
  • Be comfortable working in a multicultural and geographically distributed environment.
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate financial information clearly to program leaders, finance professionals, implementing sites, and other stakeholders.
  • Be capable of managing multiple priorities, deadlines, reporting cycles, and financial projects independently.
  • Have reliable internet access suitable for consistent remote work.
  • Be located within practical proximity to an airport and willing to travel occasionally to locations across the national network and to finance meetings.

  • Annual base salary of $66,400–$83,000 USD.
  • Fully remote work arrangement within the United States.
  • 403(b) retirement plan.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 18 paid days off, increasing to 24 days after two years.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
