This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Public Policy & Government Relations Lead / Coordinator based in Brazil.
This is a remote, field-facing role focused on government relations, public policy, and institutional engagement across Brazil. You will help shape and execute public affairs strategies aligned with business and regulatory priorities. The role involves building trusted relationships with policymakers, regulators, government representatives, and industry associations. You will monitor regulatory developments, identify emerging risks and opportunities, and support appropriate stakeholder strategies. Working closely with Legal, Compliance, Finance, Payments, Business Development, and communications teams, you will help navigate a highly regulated environment. The position is expected to be based in Brasília and requires travel to headquarters and other locations across Brazil when needed. It offers an opportunity to operate at the intersection of business, regulation, government relations, and external stakeholder engagement.
Accountabilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with federal, state, and local government representatives, regulators, industry associations, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Develop and implement public policy and government relations strategies aligned with business priorities in Brazil.
- Monitor legislative, regulatory, and public policy developments and assess their potential risks, opportunities, and operational implications.
- Develop appropriate policy positions, stakeholder engagement plans, and mitigation strategies in response to regulatory developments.
- Coordinate government outreach, external advocacy initiatives, and public policy programs.
- Provide government relations and public affairs support to internal teams to help facilitate business operations and address institutional matters.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Business Development, Legal, Compliance, Payments, Finance, and external communications or PR partners.
- Communicate the scope, impact, and benefits of investments and operations clearly to external stakeholders with different areas of expertise.
- Represent the organization in meetings and engagements with government authorities, regulators, industry organizations, and other institutional stakeholders.
- Support coalition-building and engagement with industry associations, think tanks, advocacy organizations, and other relevant groups.
- Work effectively across local, state, and federal government levels and adapt engagement strategies to different institutional contexts.
- Travel to headquarters and other locations across Brazil as required by the role.
- Solid professional experience in Public Policy, Government Relations, Public Affairs, Community Relations, Corporate Social Responsibility, or a related field.
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Political Science, Public Policy, Public Affairs, Economic Development, or a related discipline.
- Fluency in Portuguese and English, both written and spoken.
- Proven experience in Government Relations and Public Policy within the Brazilian gaming/iGaming sector or another highly regulated industry.
- Strong track record of developing and managing relationships with government representatives, regulators, industry associations, and external stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze regulatory and policy developments, identify potential risks and opportunities, and translate them into practical stakeholder and policy strategies.
- Strong communication, negotiation, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to operate independently in a dynamic environment with evolving priorities and regulatory requirements.
- Availability to travel within Brazil as required.
- Spanish proficiency is an advantage.
- A Master's degree or higher in a relevant discipline is a plus.
- Experience building and managing coalitions involving industry associations, think tanks, advocacy organizations, or similar stakeholders in Brazil and Latin America is desirable.
- Experience engaging with stakeholders across municipal, state, and federal levels in Brazil is advantageous.
