The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a QA Engineer based in Brazil.

As a QA Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and security of mobile applications and backend services. You will combine exploratory testing, test automation, API validation, and release quality assessments to deliver dependable digital experiences. Working closely with product, mobile, web, backend, and support teams, you will identify risks early, strengthen regression coverage, and prevent defects from reaching production. You will help integrate reliable automated testing into CI/CD pipelines while establishing scalable quality standards and release processes. The role offers significant ownership in shaping quality practices across a growing technology product, with a focus on continuous improvement and measurable results. You will also leverage modern AI-assisted development tools to improve testing efficiency while maintaining rigorous standards for accuracy, security, and maintainability. This fully remote opportunity is ideal for a proactive quality professional who enjoys solving complex problems and helping engineering teams deliver with confidence.

Accountabilities

  • Plan and execute exploratory, functional, regression, API, and mobile application testing to validate product functionality, reliability, and security.
  • Test applications across multiple devices, operating systems, browsers, and network conditions to identify compatibility issues and ensure consistent user experiences.
  • Identify high-risk product areas and prioritize testing based on potential user impact, business risk, and technical complexity.
  • Validate critical user journeys across mobile applications and backend services, ensuring features meet defined requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Verify bug fixes, conduct regression testing before releases, and maintain clear documentation of test coverage, results, unresolved defects, and known risks.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain automated tests for critical workflows across mobile applications, APIs, and platform services.
  • Integrate reliable automated checks into CI/CD pipelines to strengthen release validation and provide faster feedback throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Investigate flaky or unreliable tests, improve test-suite stability, and maintain reusable test data and testing infrastructure.
  • Balance automated and exploratory testing approaches to maximize coverage, efficiency, and defect detection.
  • Identify, document, and communicate defects with clear reproduction steps, supporting evidence, and relevant technical context.
  • Collaborate with engineers to investigate root causes, verify fixes, prevent regressions, and address recurring quality issues at their source.
  • Participate in release planning and readiness reviews, communicating testing gaps, outstanding defects, and potential risks before deployment.
  • Help establish measurable quality standards, acceptance criteria, and release-readiness requirements based on testing evidence and risk assessments.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering teams to improve testability, incorporate quality considerations early in development, and prevent defects before they reach production.
  • Collaborate with Support and Trust & Safety teams to identify patterns in customer-reported issues and translate findings into actionable quality improvements.
  • Contribute to accessibility, performance, security, and reliability testing to strengthen the overall user experience.
  • Use AI coding assistants and agentic development tools to accelerate test development while independently reviewing generated code for correctness, reliability, security, and maintainability.
  • Protect proprietary code, credentials, customer information, and other sensitive data when using AI-assisted tools, remaining accountable for all testing work.
  • During the first 90 days, learn the product architecture and release processes, assess existing test coverage, automate priority regression scenarios, improve test reliability, and integrate stable automated checks into CI/CD.
  • Over time, establish dependable regression coverage for critical user journeys, reduce high-severity production defects, improve automated test coverage, and create repeatable QA practices that scale with the product.
  • At least three years of professional experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering, Software Testing, or a related discipline.
  • Strong experience with both exploratory testing and automated testing, including the ability to select appropriate methods based on risk and product requirements.
  • Practical experience testing mobile applications and APIs, with an understanding of application behavior across devices, platforms, and network conditions.
  • Programming skills sufficient to design, write, debug, test, and maintain automated test scripts and supporting code.
  • Working knowledge of Git, code review practices, and CI/CD workflows, with the ability to integrate testing into modern software development processes.
  • Experience developing software and automated tests both independently and with AI-assisted coding tools.
  • Ability to use generative AI tools and coding assistants effectively while maintaining ownership of the resulting code and validating all AI-generated implementations.
  • Strong understanding of how to review, test, debug, and validate AI-generated code, identifying potential security vulnerabilities, reliability issues, and maintainability concerns.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to investigate complex issues and identify root causes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document defects clearly and collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams throughout the development lifecycle.
  • A proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement, risk reduction, and establishing scalable quality practices.
  • Experience testing social, creator, media, or other consumer-facing applications.
  • Familiarity with real-time product features such as messaging, notifications, content feeds, or live interactions.
  • Experience testing monetization workflows, subscriptions, payment processing, or creator payouts.
  • Hands-on experience with mobile test automation frameworks.
  • Experience with API testing frameworks and service-level test automation.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based applications, distributed systems, and complex service integrations.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and performance testing methodologies.
  • Experience establishing or improving QA processes within a growing engineering organization.
  • Competitive salary in USD, aligned with your skills and experience.
  • Paid time off to support work-life balance and personal well-being.
  • Health insurance subsidy to help cover healthcare expenses.
  • Annual salary reviews to recognize performance and professional growth.
  • Paid training and certifications to support continuous learning and technical development.
  • Fully remote work arrangement, offering flexibility to work from Brazil.
  • Opportunity to shape quality standards and testing practices across a growing technology product.
  • Hands-on experience with test automation, mobile applications, APIs, and CI/CD integration.
  • Close collaboration with engineering and product leadership, with opportunities to influence release decisions and product reliability.
  • Meaningful ownership of quality improvements, process optimization, and scalable testing strategies.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
