The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer based in United States.

This is a fully remote opportunity for an experienced business intelligence professional who enjoys turning complex data into actionable insights. You will solve challenging business problems by combining analytics, data modeling, visualization, and application development. The role offers the opportunity to influence technical direction and contribute to business intelligence strategy. You’ll work across modern data and analytics technologies, including Databricks, Python/PySpark, Power BI, and Power Apps. Your work will help decision-makers understand business performance through reliable, well-designed data products and experiences. You’ll operate with significant autonomy while collaborating with stakeholders and learning complex systems, policies, and tools. The role is best suited to someone who combines strong technical judgment with an understanding of user needs and business context.

Accountabilities

  • Analyze complex business problems using data from internal and external sources and translate findings into clear, actionable insights for decision-makers.
  • Design and maintain data models, taxonomies, schemas, versioning approaches, and conflict or precedence rules that support reliable analytics.
  • Develop and optimize business intelligence solutions using Power BI, including DAX, semantic models, dashboards, and performance tuning.
  • Build data-driven applications and user interfaces using TypeScript frameworks such as Angular or React, or Python-based tools such as Streamlit and Dash.
  • Use Python and PySpark within Databricks to process, analyze, and transform data for business intelligence applications.
  • Combine front-end experiences with back-end data sources to deliver integrated, scalable analytics solutions.
  • Contribute to the evolution of business intelligence tools, technologies, applications, and practices across the organization.
  • Exercise independent judgment when determining technical approaches for assigned project components and influence departmental strategy through technical expertise.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and create intuitive solutions for complex, expert-user workflows.
  • Continuously develop knowledge of relevant systems, policies, tools, and business processes while supporting a high standard of data quality and usability.
  • Bachelor’s degree plus at least 3 years of technical experience in analytics, or a Master’s degree plus at least 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Python/PySpark and Databricks.
  • Hands-on experience designing data models, taxonomies, schemas, versioning approaches, and conflict or precedence rules.
  • Intermediate Power BI expertise, including DAX, semantic modeling, and performance optimization.
  • Experience developing front-end user interfaces with TypeScript using Angular or React, or Python frameworks such as Streamlit or Dash.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to evaluate complex data and business situations independently.
  • Ability to make sound technical decisions and operate with considerable autonomy.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical business solutions.
  • Willingness to work standard Central or Eastern Time business hours despite the nationwide remote setup.
  • Ability and willingness to remain in the position for at least 12 months before pursuing other internal opportunities.
  • Preferred experience with full-stack development connecting front-end applications to back-end data stores.
  • Preferred intermediate experience with Power Automate.
  • Preferred understanding of UX and information architecture for dense, expert-user applications.
  • Experience working with healthcare-related data is an advantage.
  • Fully remote position available nationwide in the United States.
  • Base salary range of $89,000–$121,400 per year, depending on qualifications, experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors.
  • Eligibility for a bonus incentive plan based on company and/or individual performance.
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan.
  • Paid time off, company holidays, and personal holidays.
  • Paid parental and caregiver leave.
  • Short-term and long-term disability coverage.
  • Life insurance.
  • Additional programs and resources supporting employee well-being and financial security.
  • 40-hour workweek with standard business hours aligned to Central or Eastern Time.
  • Remote work setup requiring reliable internet connectivity of at least 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload, plus a dedicated workspace suitable for protecting confidential information.
  • Occasional travel may be required for training or meetings.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
