The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Data Scientist based in Switzerland.

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will play a key role in shaping business strategy through advanced analytics, experimentation, and data-driven insights. You will investigate the factors influencing customer acquisition, conversion, monetization, and retention, helping teams make smarter decisions and accelerate sustainable growth. Working at the intersection of Data Science, Product, and Growth, you will turn complex business questions into actionable recommendations with measurable impact. You will own analytical projects end to end, from working with raw data and building reliable data models to applying statistical methods and communicating findings. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders, you will challenge assumptions, uncover new opportunities, and influence strategic priorities. This is an opportunity to combine technical expertise, commercial thinking, and analytical ownership within a collaborative, international, and innovation-driven environment.

Accountabilities

  • Lead business-critical investigations across the customer journey, from acquisition and activation to conversion, monetization, and retention, translating findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Analyze marketing channel performance, attribution, and incrementality across SEO, paid search, CRM, and emerging channels to evaluate investment effectiveness and identify growth opportunities.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate A/B tests in collaboration with Product and Growth teams, applying statistical analysis, causal inference, and quasi-experimental methods where traditional experimentation is not feasible.
  • Build, test, document, and maintain reliable, production-ready data models using SQL, Python, and data transformation tools, ensuring the quality and integrity of analytical foundations.
  • Go beyond descriptive reporting to explain business performance, identify underlying drivers, challenge assumptions, and recommend concrete actions that improve business outcomes.
  • Investigate unexpected changes in traffic, conversion rates, and customer behavior, developing analytical frameworks, predictive models, and data products that help teams identify and act on opportunities faster.
  • Partner with Product Managers, Growth specialists, engineers, and senior leadership to translate ambiguous business challenges into structured analytical approaches and measurable results.
  • Take ownership of analytical projects from initial problem definition and data preparation through modeling, interpretation, stakeholder communication, and implementation of recommendations.
  • Significant experience in applied Data Science or advanced analytics, ideally within a SaaS, digital product, product-led growth, or marketing-driven business, with a proven ability to influence business decisions.
  • Advanced SQL and data modeling skills, including experience designing, building, testing, documenting, and maintaining reliable data models. Familiarity with dbt or similar data transformation tools is highly valued.
  • Strong Python programming skills, with the ability to conduct statistical analyses, develop predictive models, and build practical data products.
  • Solid knowledge of statistics, experimentation, and causal inference, including experience designing and evaluating A/B tests and selecting appropriate methods for complex analytical questions.
  • Experience in Growth or Marketing Analytics, with a strong understanding of acquisition channels, conversion funnels, attribution, incrementality, and customer behavior. Experience analyzing SEO or paid search performance is a plus.
  • Strong product and commercial acumen, with the ability to connect metrics to business outcomes, prioritize high-value questions, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • An end-to-end ownership mindset, with the ability to manage the full analytical lifecycle, from raw data and modeling to interpretation, communication, and actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, enabling you to explain complex analytical findings clearly and persuasively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A curious, proactive, and independent approach, with a willingness to challenge assumptions, explore unfamiliar problems, and go beyond the initial request.
  • Professional proficiency in English, with the ability to collaborate effectively in an international working environment.
  • Experience in subscription-based or product-led growth businesses, particularly in conversion optimization, pricing, retention, or customer lifetime value.
  • Hands-on experience with marketing incrementality, attribution modeling, Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM), or quasi-experimental techniques.
  • Experience developing analytical frameworks or data products that are adopted and used by business teams.
  • Previous experience in a lean, high-impact Data team, independently owning both analytical projects and the underlying data models.
  • A proven track record of influencing Product, Growth, or Marketing strategy through rigorous analysis and clear, evidence-based recommendations.
  • Meaningful business impact: Contribute to a global digital product used by more than 60 million people every month, with your analyses directly informing business performance and growth.
  • Autonomy and ownership: Take responsibility for complex analytical challenges from start to finish and see your recommendations translate into real business decisions.
  • Collaborative environment: Work closely with experienced Data, Product, and Growth leaders in a team that values curiosity, knowledge sharing, and thoughtful decision-making.
  • Remote flexibility: Enjoy a remote working environment across supported European locations, with a hybrid option for team members based in Zurich.
  • Generous annual leave: Benefit from 30 vacation days each year.
  • Sabbatical leave: Access extended leave after more than two years with the company.
  • Parental support: Receive 16 weeks of fully paid parental leave at 100% of salary for all new parents.
  • Professional development: Access an annual personal development budget of up to CHF 2,000, plus time off for courses and training.
  • Continuous learning: Benefit from internal knowledge-sharing sessions and external coaching opportunities during working hours to strengthen technical and interpersonal skills.
  • Innovation opportunities: Participate in dedicated hack days to experiment, collaborate, and develop new ideas.
  • International exposure: Work with a diverse, global team in an established digital product environment that combines scale with the agility of a lean organization.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
