This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst, Deal Desk (Strategic Finance) based in United States .
This is a strategic finance role focused on complex commercial agreements, financial modeling, and revenue optimization within a fast-paced global environment. You’ll partner closely with Sales, Accounting, Analytics, FP&A, and other teams to evaluate and structure customer incentive programs. The role combines detailed financial analysis with strategic thinking, helping leadership understand business performance and make informed decisions. You’ll own critical tracking models, forecast revenue adjustments, and ensure financial information remains accurate and actionable. You’ll also help assess the effectiveness of deal strategies and translate insights into future commercial decisions. This position is well suited to a highly analytical, independent professional who enjoys solving complex problems and improving financial processes.
Accountabilities:
- Own and maintain complex financial tracking files for customer incentive programs and related revenue adjustments, ensuring accuracy and alignment with current deal terms.
- Design customer-facing financial incentives in partnership with go-to-market teams, considering individual customer circumstances, performance, and revenue opportunities.
- Analyze the effectiveness of Deal Desk strategies through quarterly post-mortems, evaluating successful and unsuccessful incentives, incremental revenue generated, and opportunities for future improvement.
- Build strategic financial models to evaluate initiatives and provide analytical support to senior leadership decision-making.
- Work cross-functionally to respond to high-impact data requests and provide clarity on business composition, performance, and key operational drivers.
- Track revenue adjustments resulting from customer incentives and accurately project adjusted revenue for both active and anticipated deals.
- Partner closely with Accounting during monthly and quarterly close processes to ensure revenue adjustments and incentive impacts are accurately and timely reflected in financial statements.
- Serve as the owner of the primary KPI file, maintaining accurate and accessible metrics used for strategic planning, leadership reviews, and Board-level discussions.
- Continuously improve financial models, tracking processes, and reporting tools to increase efficiency, usability, and data quality.
- Apply strong business judgment and confidentiality when working with sensitive commercial and financial information.
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, with experience in corporate development, accounting, investment banking, strategy, finance development programs, Deal Desk, or consulting considered a plus.
- Exceptional proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, with strong financial modeling capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to take ownership of complex financial files and improve their efficiency, usability, and reliability.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects, competing priorities, and stakeholder requests simultaneously.
- Solid understanding of accounting and financial statements; valuation experience is a plus.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong business judgment and genuine curiosity about how the underlying business operates and generates revenue.
- Ability to interpret complex data and communicate insights clearly, including through effective data visualization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with Tableau, Salesforce, Looker, or comparable data visualization and business intelligence tools.
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong ability to balance short-term, ad hoc requests with longer-term strategic initiatives.
- Willingness and ability to collaborate across global teams and accommodate Pacific Time working hours when required.
