The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior FP&A Analyst based in the United States.

As a Senior FP&A Analyst, you will play a key role in driving financial planning, performance analysis, and strategic decision-making within a growing organization. You will take ownership of budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and variance analysis, helping leadership understand business performance and identify opportunities for improvement. Working closely with operational leaders and senior management, you will translate complex financial data into clear insights and actionable recommendations. You will leverage Workday Adaptive Planning, advanced Excel, and business intelligence tools to improve reporting accuracy, streamline processes, and strengthen financial visibility. Beyond routine financial reporting, you will contribute to strategic initiatives involving acquisitions, pricing, investments, and profitability optimization. This remote opportunity offers significant exposure to senior leadership and the chance to help build a more sophisticated, data-driven financial planning and analysis function. If you are a proactive financial professional who enjoys investigating business trends, solving complex problems, and influencing decisions through data, this role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

Accountabilities

  • Budgeting and financial planning: Lead the annual budgeting process and long-range financial planning, ensuring alignment between financial targets, operational priorities, and organizational growth objectives.
  • Forecasting and scenario modeling: Own monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts in collaboration with business leaders. Develop driver-based financial models and scenario analyses to evaluate potential opportunities, risks, and changes in business performance.
  • Financial performance analysis: Analyze revenue, labor costs, margins, and operating expenses against budget, forecasts, and prior-year results to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas requiring attention.
  • Variance analysis and business insights: Investigate significant financial variances, identify underlying business drivers, and communicate findings through clear explanations and actionable recommendations.
  • Executive reporting: Prepare financial reporting packages, management presentations, and performance updates that translate complex data into meaningful insights for senior leadership and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Business partnering: Collaborate with operational leaders and senior management to support financial decisions, assess business performance, and recommend strategies that improve efficiency and profitability.
  • Financial systems and modeling: Use Workday Adaptive Planning to manage budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and financial modeling processes. Build and maintain reporting models that integrate information from ERP systems, business intelligence platforms, and other data sources.
  • Reporting automation and process improvement: Identify opportunities to automate manual reporting activities, improve data quality, standardize financial processes, and increase the accuracy and consistency of financial information.
  • Strategic finance support: Conduct financial analyses related to acquisitions, pricing strategies, investments, and other strategic initiatives, helping leadership assess potential returns, financial implications, and business risks.
  • Profitability and operational efficiency: Identify opportunities to optimize margins, manage costs, improve resource allocation, and strengthen overall operating performance.
  • Financial team development: Where applicable, support the development of other financial analysts through mentoring, knowledge sharing, and guidance on analytical methods and reporting standards.
  • Proactive decision support: Anticipate business questions, investigate emerging financial trends, and develop recommendations that help the organization make informed, forward-looking decisions.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • Professional experience: At least five years of experience in financial planning and analysis, with a demonstrated track record of owning budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Financial modeling: Proven ability to build financial models from the ground up, develop driver-based forecasts, perform scenario analyses, and evaluate business opportunities and risks.
  • Workday Adaptive Planning: Strong hands-on experience with Workday Adaptive Planning for budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and reporting.
  • Advanced Excel: Strong Excel skills and the ability to work confidently with large datasets, complex financial models, and detailed analytical reports.
  • Financial analysis: Solid understanding of revenue, labor costs, operating expenses, margins, variance analysis, and financial performance measurement.
  • Reporting and visualization: Experience developing financial reporting packages, dashboards, and presentations using ERP systems, business intelligence tools, and other data sources.
  • Communication and presentation: Ability to explain financial results, business drivers, and recommendations clearly to non-finance stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Business partnering: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with operational teams, challenge assumptions constructively, and influence decisions using financial insights.
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking: A highly analytical mindset with the curiosity to investigate why results change, evaluate alternative scenarios, and identify practical solutions.
  • Process improvement: Experience improving reporting workflows, automating manual tasks, and strengthening the quality and reliability of financial data.
  • Initiative and accountability: A proactive, self-directed approach to work, with the ability to identify opportunities, manage competing priorities, and deliver high-quality analysis with minimal supervision.
  • Preferred qualifications: Experience mentoring or managing financial analysts; familiarity with Workday ERP, Power BI, Tableau, or similar business intelligence tools; and exposure to mergers and acquisitions, pricing, or profitability analysis.
  • Industry experience: Experience in a multi-location, labor-intensive business, such as staffing or professional services, is an advantage.
  • Location and travel: Ability to work remotely from the U.S. East Coast and accommodate approximately 20% travel.
  • Recruitment requirement: Candidates must complete a Culture Index Survey as part of the application process.

  • Strategic project involvement: Opportunities to contribute to acquisitions, pricing decisions, investment analysis, and growth initiatives.
  • Professional development: Opportunities to strengthen expertise in financial planning, advanced modeling, business intelligence, and strategic finance.
  • Process innovation: The opportunity to improve financial systems, automate reporting, and help develop a more sophisticated, data-driven FP&A function.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
