The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer (React + Node.js) based in Ireland.

Are you a seasoned full stack developer passionate about building scalable applications and solving complex engineering challenges? This opportunity allows you to contribute to innovative digital solutions transforming how utility companies plan, manage, and optimize their field operations. You will work on a cloud-native platform combining workflow automation, operational management, digital twin technology, and AI-powered planning capabilities. Using React, Node.js, NestJS, PostgreSQL, and AWS, you will develop end-to-end features that deliver tangible value to real-world infrastructure operations. You will take ownership of features from initial design through production deployment while contributing to architectural decisions and platform reliability. Working remotely with experienced engineers and an international team, including UK-based stakeholders, you will have the opportunity to influence product development and adopt modern AI-assisted engineering practices.

Accountabilities

  • Develop modern frontend applications: Design, build, and maintain responsive, scalable, and user-friendly React applications that support operational planning, scheduling, and management workflows.
  • Build robust backend services: Develop and maintain scalable backend services and REST APIs using Node.js and NestJS, ensuring performance, security, and maintainability.
  • Deliver end-to-end features: Take ownership of full stack functionality from requirements analysis and technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Design and optimize databases: Develop and maintain PostgreSQL schemas, optimize queries, and ensure efficient data management and reliable application performance.
  • Implement cloud-native solutions: Deploy, operate, and support applications on AWS, leveraging relevant services and infrastructure to build scalable and resilient systems.
  • Contribute to technical architecture: Participate in architectural discussions, recommend effective technical solutions, review code, and help establish engineering standards and best practices.
  • Maintain software quality: Implement appropriate testing strategies, participate in code reviews, support release activities, and contribute to continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes.
  • Troubleshoot and improve reliability: Investigate production incidents, identify root causes, resolve technical issues, and proactively improve platform stability, performance, and scalability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with product managers, designers, engineers, and UK-based stakeholders to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.
  • Drive independent problem-solving: Analyze complex technical challenges, evaluate alternatives, and deliver solutions with minimal supervision.
  • Leverage AI-assisted development: Use modern development tools, including Cursor and Claude Code, to accelerate implementation, improve productivity, and support efficient software engineering workflows.
  • Professional experience: At least 7 years of commercial Node.js development experience, with a strong focus on backend engineering and building production-grade applications.
  • Frontend expertise: Solid commercial experience with React and the ability to develop and maintain modern, scalable frontend applications.
  • Backend development: Strong knowledge of Node.js, hands-on experience with NestJS, and demonstrated expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining REST APIs and backend services.
  • Database proficiency: Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, including database design, query optimization, and efficient data access patterns.
  • Cloud computing: Practical experience with AWS services, particularly Lambda, ECS, API Gateway, and related cloud infrastructure.
  • Software engineering practices: Good understanding of software testing, Git workflows, code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, and modern development methodologies.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills: Ability to investigate complex technical issues, identify root causes, make sound engineering decisions, and deliver effective solutions independently.
  • Communication skills: Upper-intermediate English proficiency (B2+) or higher, with the ability to collaborate effectively with international colleagues and communicate daily with a UK-based team.
  • Adaptability and ownership: A proactive approach to development, strong attention to detail, and the ability to take responsibility for features throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Strong commercial experience with TypeScript.
  • Experience with Docker and containerization technologies.
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
  • Experience building SaaS platforms or highly available production systems.
  • Familiarity with monitoring, observability, and cloud security best practices.
  • Experience with Feathers.js.
  • Experience with automated testing tools such as Playwright or Selenium.
  • Experience integrating third-party services and platforms, including Stripe, OpenSearch, or Elasticsearch.
  • Experience working in large, cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with Java Spring applications.
  • Experience using AI-powered development tools to enhance engineering productivity.
  • Competitive compensation: A salary package that reflects your skills, experience, and technical expertise. The specific salary range is not disclosed in the original job posting.
  • Remote work: Work remotely in an international environment, with the flexibility and convenience of a distributed team.
  • Contract opportunity: An initial engagement of approximately 6–12 months, with potential longer-term project prospects.
  • Meaningful industry impact: Contribute to digital products that help utility companies improve operational planning, field service management, and infrastructure efficiency.
  • Modern technology stack: Work with React, Node.js, NestJS, PostgreSQL, AWS, and other contemporary technologies in a cloud-native environment.
  • AI-powered development: Gain exposure to AI-assisted coding tools and modern engineering practices that support productivity and innovation.
  • Technical ownership: Take responsibility for end-to-end features, contribute to architectural decisions, and help improve the performance and reliability of production systems.
  • Collaborative environment: Work alongside experienced engineers and international stakeholders in an open culture that values technical expertise, innovative thinking, and individual contributions.
  • Military deferment: Official military deferment or reservation is listed among the offered benefits, subject to applicable eligibility requirements and local regulations.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
