The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer (React & .NET) based in Canada.

Role Overview

Join a collaborative, remote-first engineering team focused on modernizing financial services through innovative digital solutions. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will drive the development of high-quality applications using React, TypeScript, C#, and .NET, delivering impactful features that address complex business challenges. You will contribute across the full stack, designing responsive user interfaces, secure REST APIs, and reliable backend systems. Working closely with clients, product stakeholders, and fellow engineers, you will translate business objectives into practical technical solutions and ensure successful sprint delivery. You will also mentor other developers, promote engineering best practices, and leverage AI-powered tools to improve productivity and software quality. This opportunity offers significant technical ownership, professional development, and the flexibility to work remotely within a supportive, internationally distributed team.

Accountabilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain full-stack applications using React, JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, and .NET.
  • Build responsive, accessible, and user-friendly interfaces while ensuring seamless integration with backend services.
  • Design and implement secure, efficient RESTful APIs and server-side applications, working with databases such as SQL Server.
  • Contribute to technical designs for complex features, selecting appropriate solutions that balance business needs, scalability, maintainability, and performance.
  • Incorporate AI-powered technologies and development tools into engineering workflows to enhance innovation, efficiency, and delivery quality.
  • Collaborate with delivery leads, product stakeholders, and client representatives to clarify requirements, define acceptance criteria, document technical approaches, and align priorities.
  • Support sprint planning, delegate technical tasks when appropriate, monitor progress, anticipate risks, and help the team deliver committed work on time.
  • Identify and address technical debt, prevent recurring defects, and improve development practices to increase team productivity and reduce rework.
  • Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, technical discussions, and hands-on collaboration, encouraging effective use of AI tools and established engineering practices.
  • Manage development environments, deployment pipelines, and key technical deliverables to support reliable releases.
  • Present technical demonstrations and sprint outcomes, communicating implementation details and business value clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Professional experience: 5–8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong track record of delivering production-ready applications and following engineering best practices.
  • Frontend development: Hands-on experience building interactive, responsive user interfaces with React, React.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  • Backend development: Strong experience developing .NET applications using C#, including secure RESTful APIs, server-side architecture, and database integration.
  • Full-stack expertise: Demonstrated proficiency in at least two of the following areas: frontend user interface development, data-driven REST API development, or database, cloud, and server administration.
  • Software architecture: Ability to integrate frontend and backend components effectively, ensure reliable data flow, and design maintainable application architectures.
  • DevOps practices: Experience applying DevOps principles and supporting development pipelines, deployment processes, and software delivery best practices.
  • Technical leadership: Ability to guide development work, review code, mentor colleagues, anticipate technical risks, and help teams improve delivery speed and quality.
  • Client collaboration: Experience working with client stakeholders during sprint planning, gathering requirements, documenting technical approaches, and communicating implementation trade-offs.
  • Business orientation: Ability to understand business objectives, connect technical decisions to measurable outcomes, and prioritize work according to customer value.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
  • Education: A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline is beneficial; equivalent professional experience or intensive technical training may also be considered.
  • Mindset: A proactive, collaborative, and ownership-driven approach, with a willingness to learn, adapt, share knowledge, and contribute to a positive team culture.
  • Full-time employment: A stable, long-term opportunity with employment arrangements aligned with the applicable country.
  • Remote flexibility: Work remotely from an eligible location, with the autonomy to organize your work within team collaboration needs.
  • Work-life balance: A culture that encourages a sustainable 40-hour workweek, along with paid time off and local public holidays.
  • Country-specific benefits: Access to benefits and perks tailored to your country of residence, potentially including bonus payments and local employment protections.
  • Professional development: Financial support for online courses, technical conferences, certifications, and other learning opportunities.
  • Career growth: Opportunities to strengthen technical leadership, expand your expertise, and take ownership of meaningful engineering initiatives.
  • Supportive culture: A people-first environment built on respect, empathy, openness, and shared responsibility.
  • Autonomy and trust: Freedom to make technical decisions, contribute ideas, and improve engineering practices without unnecessary micromanagement.
  • Collaborative teamwork: Opportunities to exchange knowledge, mentor colleagues, and work alongside experienced professionals on challenging projects.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
