The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Social Media Manager based in the United States (Remote).

We are seeking a strategic and creative Social Media Manager to build a distinctive, engaging, and credible social media presence for a technically sophisticated brand. In this role, you will own the social media strategy, editorial calendar, content production workflows, publishing operations, and performance analysis across key channels. You will collaborate closely with creative, engineering, and developer-focused teams to transform complex technical concepts into compelling, accessible, and platform-native content. From product launches and industry events to developer education and community conversations, you will help connect valuable ideas with the audiences who matter most. You will also leverage AI tools and automation to streamline workflows, increase content output, and improve operational efficiency without compromising accuracy or brand voice. This is an opportunity to combine editorial leadership, technical curiosity, data-driven experimentation, and hands-on execution to strengthen brand awareness and community engagement.

Accountabilities

  • Own the day-to-day social media presence across primary brand channels, defining channel strategies, audience priorities, publishing cadences, and growth objectives.
  • Develop and maintain a forward-looking editorial calendar that integrates product launches, technical content, creative campaigns, industry events, community stories, and relevant industry discussions.
  • Manage the end-to-end social media production process, including content intake, briefing, contributor coordination, creative asset management, deadlines, reviews, approvals, and publication.
  • Write, edit, and publish engaging, platform-specific content that reflects the brand voice while adapting messaging, technical depth, formats, and calls to action to each audience.
  • Collaborate with Developer Relations and technical contributors to identify compelling stories, repurpose educational resources, highlight community insights, and translate complex technical subjects into relevant social content.
  • Partner with creative production teams to develop social-first videos, recurring content series, carousels, launch campaigns, and other original formats informed by audience behavior and performance data.
  • Plan and execute social media support for product launches and events, including pre-launch campaigns, live coverage, employee and partner amplification, community engagement, and post-launch follow-up.
  • Monitor social conversations, mentions, industry developments, and community feedback, responding appropriately and escalating technical questions or sensitive issues to relevant stakeholders.
  • Establish scalable content repurposing systems for webinars, livestreams, demonstrations, blog posts, documentation, podcasts, events, and community contributions while maintaining originality and relevance.
  • Implement AI-powered tools and automation to improve research, drafting, content repurposing, quality assurance, scheduling, social listening, and reporting. Document workflows and evaluate their impact on productivity and quality.
  • Define and maintain a practical social media measurement framework covering reach, engagement, audience growth, referral traffic, video performance, share of voice, and other relevant business outcomes.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, communicate insights to cross-functional partners, and use findings to refine editorial priorities, creative formats, channel strategies, and production processes.
  • Maintain strong publishing governance, including account permissions, approval processes, accessibility standards, link tracking, platform compliance, and response protocols.
  • Evaluate emerging platforms and content formats through structured experiments, using measurable outcomes to guide future investment and resource allocation.
  • Demonstrated experience managing social media for a developer-focused, infrastructure, open-source, enterprise software, or similarly technical brand.
  • A portfolio showcasing social media posts, campaigns, and programs you have personally developed or managed, with the ability to explain your strategy, contributions, results, and lessons learned.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and editorial judgment, with the ability to make complex technical concepts clear, concise, engaging, and accurate without losing their substance.
  • Strong technical fluency gained through software engineering, Developer Relations, technical marketing, developer content creation, or comparable hands-on experience. You should be comfortable reading technical documentation, understanding code and software architecture, interviewing engineers, and identifying claims that require expert validation.
  • Familiarity with software infrastructure, distributed systems, developer tools, cloud platforms, APIs, or related technical fields, along with the ability to quickly learn new products and developer ecosystems.
  • Experience managing multi-channel editorial calendars and coordinating the workflows, contributors, creative assets, deadlines, reviews, and approvals required for consistent publishing.
  • Strong project management, communication, and organizational skills, including the ability to engage busy stakeholders, maintain accountability, anticipate risks, and keep projects moving forward.
  • In-depth knowledge of social media platforms and audience behaviors, particularly on X, LinkedIn, YouTube, Reddit, and relevant developer communities.
  • Experience interpreting performance data, developing hypotheses, conducting experiments, and applying insights to improve content effectiveness and channel growth.
  • Practical experience integrating AI tools into professional content workflows, with sound judgment about when automation adds value and when human expertise, editorial oversight, and technical validation are essential.
  • A proactive, independent mindset with the ability to identify promising stories, develop content concepts, coordinate the right contributors, and deliver work from initial idea through publication.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to content quality, accessibility, brand consistency, and responsible social media account management.
  • Professional software engineering experience or a track record of independently building technical projects.
  • Experience developing automations or lightweight internal tools using APIs, AI agents, workflow platforms, scripts, or no-code solutions.
  • Familiarity with durable execution, distributed systems, microservices, reliable AI applications, or relevant developer technologies.
  • Experience collaborating with Developer Relations, engineering, product marketing, communications, or open-source community teams.
  • Basic video editing, graphic design, motion design, or visual production skills, including the ability to create lightweight assets and provide constructive creative feedback.
  • Experience supporting developer conferences, product launches, livestreams, or real-time social media coverage.
  • Familiarity with social media publishing, listening, analytics, and project management tools.
  • Competitive compensation: Annual compensation varies by geographic market and experience level, with the following salary ranges:
  • Tier 1: $132,000–$167,000.
  • Tier 2: $118,800–$150,000.
  • Tier 3: $105,600–$133,000.
  • Equity opportunities: Eligible compensation packages include equity, offering an opportunity to participate in the company's long-term growth.
  • Remote work: A fully remote position based in the United States.
  • Full-time employment: An opportunity to take ownership of a strategic function and make a measurable impact on brand visibility, audience growth, and community engagement.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with creative, technical, and developer-focused professionals in an environment that values experimentation, technical accuracy, and innovative content.
  • AI-enabled workflows: Opportunities to explore and implement AI tools and automation to improve creative operations, content production, and team efficiency.
  • Inclusive workplace: A commitment to equal employment opportunity, diversity, accessibility, and reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
