The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr XaaS Automation Engineer based in the United States.

We’re seeking a Sr XaaS Automation Engineer to design and advance the automation capabilities that power scalable, on-demand technology services. In this role, you’ll connect workflows, APIs, infrastructure platforms, and operational systems to make service delivery faster, more reliable, and more consistent. You’ll define automation strategies, identify opportunities to streamline complex processes, and develop reusable orchestration patterns that support a wide range of technology services. Your work will help improve operational efficiency, strengthen governance, and deliver a smoother self-service experience. You’ll also establish standards for security, testing, observability, and continuous improvement. This is an opportunity to take ownership, solve meaningful technical challenges, and help shape the future of automated service delivery in a remote work environment.

Accountabilities

  • Define and maintain an automation strategy and roadmap for technology services delivered through self-service portals and request-driven workflows.
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities to automate service provisioning, configuration, validation, remediation, scaling, decommissioning, and ongoing service changes.
  • Design and implement reusable workflows, orchestration patterns, APIs, integrations, and automation components that can be applied consistently across services.
  • Integrate automation capabilities with service catalogs, IT service management (ITSM), identity and access management (IAM), monitoring tools, configuration management, inventory platforms, and billing or consumption systems where applicable.
  • Establish appropriate controls for approvals, policy enforcement, secrets management, audit trails, exception handling, and human intervention.
  • Promote event-driven operations, infrastructure as code (IaC), continuous validation, and automated compliance checks to improve reliability and consistency.
  • Define and maintain standards for automation testing, version control, release management, observability, failure recovery, and long-term maintainability.
  • Monitor automation performance and measure improvements in service fulfillment time, error rates, operational effort, adoption, reliability, and customer experience.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to simplify service delivery, reduce manual work, and improve the scalability and quality of technology operations.
  • Demonstrated experience in technology automation, service orchestration, infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Strong understanding of XaaS delivery models and the automation of self-service or request-based technology services.
  • Experience designing reusable automation workflows, API integrations, orchestration components, and end-to-end service delivery processes.
  • Familiarity with IT service management, service catalogs, identity and access management, monitoring, configuration management, infrastructure inventory, and related operational systems.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure as code, event-driven automation, continuous validation, and automated compliance practices.
  • Understanding of enterprise automation controls, including approvals, access policies, secrets management, auditability, exception handling, and recovery mechanisms.
  • Experience establishing automation engineering standards covering testing, version control, release processes, observability, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Ability to evaluate automation opportunities, prioritize initiatives based on business and operational value, and measure outcomes using meaningful performance indicators.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex operational requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Clear communication and collaboration skills, sound technical judgment, and a proactive approach to ownership and continuous improvement.
  • Comfort working independently in a remote environment, adapting to evolving priorities, and contributing ideas that improve both technology and service delivery.
  • Remote work: The role is listed as remote within the United States.
  • Professional growth: Opportunity to take ownership of automation initiatives and expand expertise in service orchestration, infrastructure automation, and technology service delivery.
  • Meaningful technical impact: Help improve the speed, consistency, scalability, and reliability of technology services through reusable automation and streamlined workflows.
  • Ownership and innovation: Contribute to automation strategy, technical standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Compensation and additional benefits: Salary range, healthcare coverage, retirement plans, paid time off, bonuses, and other benefits are not specified in the provided job description.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
