The posting

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Technical Operations & Client Success Manager based in Australia.

This is a hands-on operational leadership role responsible for delivering reliable technical operations and client support across Australia. You’ll oversee installations, activations, maintenance, and live event operations while ensuring clients have a trusted local point of contact. Based in Melbourne, you’ll manage technicians and coordinate specialist and event support as the operation continues to grow. The role combines people leadership, technical oversight, client relationship management, and practical problem-solving in fast-moving environments. You’ll work closely with international colleagues while maintaining strong ownership of local delivery. With regular travel to sites and events, you’ll have a direct and visible impact on operational quality and customer experience.

Accountabilities:

  • Own day-to-day operational delivery and client support across Australian sites.
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee installations, activations, maintenance activities, and live event operations.
  • Manage, schedule, support, and develop Australian technicians while maintaining appropriate staffing levels as operations expand.
  • Source and coordinate additional technicians, contractors, and specialist event support when required.
  • Build strong working relationships with clients, venue teams, technicians, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Attend key sites and events to assess readiness, support teams, monitor delivery, and resolve operational issues quickly.
  • Oversee technical setup and first-line troubleshooting, escalating complex issues to specialist support when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records covering equipment, site requirements, incidents, costs, follow-up actions, and operational activities.
  • Establish reliable local processes, standards, and workflows that can scale with the Australian operation.
  • Work closely with international colleagues across time zones to maintain consistent service and operational standards.
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical, field, or operational teams in live events, venues, hospitality, dispense systems, or another comparable hands-on environment.
  • Experience managing technicians, contractors, or field-based teams, including scheduling and coordinating additional support.
  • Strong client-facing experience with the ability to build trusted relationships and communicate clearly during operational issues.
  • Practical technical understanding and the confidence to oversee equipment setup, identify problems, and manage first-line troubleshooting.
  • Strong operational judgment and the ability to make practical decisions calmly in fast-moving or high-pressure situations.
  • Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain clear records and follow through on actions.
  • Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of local operations while collaborating with colleagues across different time zones.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly to sites, installations, sports fixtures, and live events across Australia.
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including occasional evenings and weekends when required by installations, events, or operational needs.
  • Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • AUD $100,000–$130,000 annual base salary.
  • Superannuation in addition to base salary.
  • Full-time employment.
  • Melbourne-based role with travel to sites and events across Australia.
  • Flexible working pattern aligned with installations, sports fixtures, and live events.
  • Opportunity to lead and shape technical operations across a growing Australian operation.
  • Direct ownership of local operational delivery and client success.
  • Opportunity to work across technology, live events, installations, and field operations.
  • Collaboration with an international team and exposure to a growing global operation.
  • Opportunity to build scalable processes, develop technical teams, and make a visible impact on client experience.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
