About Keyway

Keyway builds agentic infrastructure purpose-built for commercial real estate. Our AI-native platform connects data, documents, and workflows across the CRE lifecycle, turning fragmented information into trusted, actionable intelligence. Our solutions adapt to how each customer works, with flexible workflows, enterprise-grade security, and private environments.

Based in New York, Keyway works with leading real estate firms across the U.S. and internationally. We’re building a culture where people take ownership, different perspectives are heard, and thoughtful execution matters. We believe AI should amplify—not replace—CRE expertise, taking on manual tasks so teams can focus on judgment, decisions, and higher-value work.

About the Role

We're looking for a Product Engineer with a true builder mindset and an AI-first approach to problem-solving.

Someone who loves figuring things out, isn't afraid to dive into unfamiliar territory, and gets genuinely excited about turning ideas into working products.

You'll work across the stack, explore emerging technologies, solve complex problems, and have a direct impact on what we build and how we build it.

You'll also have opportunities to work directly with customers, understand their challenges, gather feedback, and translate real business needs into product solutions.

This isn't a role where you'll just pick up tickets and write code. We want someone who asks questions, challenges assumptions, experiments, and takes ownership from idea to execution.

What You'll Do

  • Build end-to-end. Take ideas from early exploration to production, owning both the technical implementation and the user experience.
  • Dig deep. Investigate problems, explore unfamiliar technologies, understand how things work, and find solutions rather than waiting for answers.
  • Think like a product owner. Understand the problem behind every feature, challenge assumptions, and help shape what we build.
  • Work directly with customers. Join customer conversations, ask questions, understand their workflows and pain points, and turn insights into meaningful product improvements.
  • Experiment and iterate. Prototype quickly, test ideas, learn from feedback, and continuously improve what you've built.
  • Build with AI. Use AI tools to accelerate development, explore solutions, automate repetitive work, and improve your own productivity.
  • Think AI-first. Continuously explore how AI can unlock new capabilities, improve existing workflows, and create better product experiences.
  • Take ownership. Identify opportunities, make decisions, unblock yourself, and drive projects forward with autonomy.
  • Collaborate across teams. Work closely with Engineering, Product, Design, and customer-facing teams to build solutions that make a difference.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience building and shipping real products.
  • A hands-on, full-stack mindset. You're comfortable working across different parts of a system.
  • A true builder mentality. You enjoy creating things from scratch, experimenting, and turning ideas into reality.
  • Natural curiosity. You don't stop at making something work. You want to understand why it works and how it could be better.
  • High autonomy and ownership. You can navigate ambiguity, make decisions, and move things forward without constant guidance.
  • An AI mindset. You're genuinely curious about AI, actively experiment with new tools, and naturally incorporate AI into how you think, solve problems, and build software. You know how to evaluate its output rather than blindly trust it.
  • Strong product intuition. You care about the user experience and the business impact of what you're building.
  • Customer obsession. You're comfortable talking directly with customers, asking thoughtful questions, understanding their challenges, and using their feedback to build better solutions.
  • Resourcefulness and creativity. You don't get stuck when the path isn't clear. You investigate, explore alternatives, and figure things out.
  • A bias for action. You'd rather build, test, and learn than spend weeks discussing every possible scenario.
  • Advanced English proficiency (C1 or equivalent). You can confidently communicate ideas, discuss technical decisions, and interact with English-speaking customers, teammates, and stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
  • Clear communication, openness to feedback, and a collaborative, low-ego attitude.

Nice to Have

  • Experience building AI-powered products, working with LLMs, or developing AI agents.
  • Experience in fast-moving startups or early-stage product teams.
  • Experience working with complex data, APIs, integrations, or automation.
  • Previous experience collaborating directly with customers on product discovery, implementation, or feedback.
  • Personal projects, side projects, or products you've built from scratch. We love people who build things simply because they're curious.

You'll Probably Love This Role If...

  • You're the kind of person who starts exploring a problem and loses track of time because you genuinely want to figure it out.
  • You enjoy building things that don't exist yet.
  • You're constantly experimenting with AI tools and finding new ways to work smarter.
  • You enjoy talking to customers and understanding how they actually use what you build.
  • You don't need a perfectly defined roadmap to make progress.
  • You care just as much about why we're building something as how to build it.
  • You see obstacles as interesting problems to solve.
  • You want to have a real voice in product decisions and see the impact of your work.

At Keyway, we're looking for people who don't just write code. They explore, experiment, listen to customers, challenge what's possible, and build things that matter.

Diversity & Inclusion

At Keyway, we value diversity and believe that different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives make us stronger. We're committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels respected, heard, and empowered to contribute.

We welcome applicants from all walks of life. If you're excited about what we're building but don't check every single box, we'd still love to hear from you. What matters most to us is your curiosity, mindset, and what you can bring to the team.

AI in Our Hiring Process

At Keyway, we embrace AI as a tool to help us work smarter, and that includes parts of our hiring process. We use AI to support our team and make certain steps more efficient, but it never replaces human judgment or makes hiring decisions for us.

Every candidate is evaluated by people, with care and consideration for their skills, experience, and potential. We believe technology should support better decisions, not take the human side out of them.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
