The posting

LA28 does not provide relocation assistance for any positions. If you are based outside the Los Angeles area, we still welcome your application — we value talent from all geographic backgrounds and want to hear from you if you are able to work on-site in LA.

Role Purpose

You will build the electrical design foundation that powers every LA28 venue, shaping temporary power overlays on existing infrastructure from the ground up. As Manager, Energy Design Engineering, you will lead the electrical studies, capacity analysis and risk assessments that translate venue requirements into reliable, resilient and sustainable power. Working with Venue Infrastructure, Technology, Broadcast and external delivery partners, you will convert evolving venue designs into coordinated, data-driven energy plans and gain career-defining exposure to delivering the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical studies and energy capacity analysis that determine load requirements, identify supply gaps and drive data-driven masterplan optimization.
  • Analyze energy-related risks to venue power supply and recommend solutions meeting loading, reliability and resiliency needs.
  • Evaluate how Venue Management design revisions affect temporary power overlays on existing HV/MV/LV infrastructure and equipment.
  • Integrate internal stakeholders with temporary power providers, design engineers and overlay resources through a coordinated review and approval process.
  • Align Energy design with Venue Infrastructure, Technology, Broadcast, Energy Program Management and the International Olympic and Paralympic Committees.

Required Competencies

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with electrical infrastructure and/or temporary electrical infrastructure design and delivery, preferably in the sport or live event industry.
  • Direct experience managing electrical design development, from load studies and energy capacity analysis through design revisions, reviews and stakeholder approvals.
  • Experience implementing sustainable energy solutions into electrical design, balancing sustainability goals with loading, reliability and resiliency needs.
  • Demonstrated commitment to co-creation and collaborative decision-making.
  • Experience working with a diverse range of stakeholders and proven success at building excellent working relationships with internal teams and external partners.

Valued Experience

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit and BIM360.
  • Fluency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and the Office suite.
  • Presenting concisely to executive leadership, external contractors and governmental agencies.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing change and mitigating project risk.

What We Offer

  • Ownership of the energy designs powering Olympic and Paralympic venues across Los Angeles.
  • Career-defining exposure to temporary power delivery at an unmatched global scale.
  • Close collaboration with Olympic and Paralympic partners and cross-functional specialist teams.
  • A high-performance culture guided by optimism, integrity, excellence, inclusion, co-creation and boldness.

What This Role Means for the Games

Every competition, broadcast and fan experience at the LA28 Games depends on dependable power. Your designs will ensure each venue receives safe, resilient and sustainable energy, contributing to a lasting legacy for Los Angeles and the Olympic and Paralympic Movement.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Available to work onsite in our Downtown Los Angeles-based office.
  • The majority of work will be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment.
  • The LA28 office is an open floorplan working environment; employees must be able to work efficiently in an open cubicle environment.
  • Hours of work may vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak event periods.
  • Perform other duties as required; the role will evolve over time and may include operational responsibilities during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
  • Travel as needed to external stakeholder offices, government agencies, and Games venues and facilities.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
