The posting

Leveraging our unique international capabilities and detailed understanding of the business environment in Korea, we provide on-the-ground execution capabilities in both U.S. and English law, across key practice areas including M&A, private equity, foreign direct investment, outbound investment, corporate

finance, capital markets, projects, energy and infrastructure, banking and finance.

Our involvement in the leading E&I deals has put our team at the cutting edge of the market, ensuring our familiarity with all the latest projects and trends. It has also enabled us to offer clients constructive and practical advice, based on how the market is evolving and our experience of dealing with the competing requirements of all the parties involved.

At Linklaters, we are looking for a passionate, curious and driven Associate, based in our Seoul office, to be a part of our E&I practice.

Key Responsibilities and skills

  • Drafting and reviewing finance documentation, project risk analysis, acquisition documents, demonstrating familiarity with the latest trends, precedents and market standards
  • Conduct due diligence and research into relevant regulatory frameworks
  • Providing sound commercial and legal advice to clients
  • Networking with clients and other market players alike, in order to capitalize on new business opportunities
  • Contributing know-how and experience to the team

Key Requirements:

  • 1 to 5 post qualification experience
  • Admitted in E&W or and other common law
  • Excellent drafting and mastery of the fundamentals of contract and finance-related law
  • Fluency in English and native level in Korean language
  • Project finance experience and familiarity with market precedents
  • Experience within a top tier firm would have an added advantage
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
  • The will to approach every aspect of the role in an enthusiastic and proactive manner
  • Be flexible and willing to take on different types of work / mandates
  • Work well under pressure and be a proactive team player
