Senior Mental Health Clinician headspace Caloundra | Part-Time | 30.4 Hours $105,500 - $110,000 p.a. We're seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Mental Health Clinician to join our multidisciplinary team at headspace Caloundra, supporting young people aged 12 to 25 years experiencing mental health challenges, alcohol and other drug concerns, and other wellbeing issues. As a senior member of the clinical team, you'll provide high-quality therapeutic support while working alongside the Team Leader to provide leadership, coordination and clinical guidance for the Intake Team. You'll play a key role in ensuring young people receive timely access to evidence-based support and coordinated care.
About headspace Caloundra headspace Caloundra provides free, confidential and youth-friendly support to young people across the Sunshine Coast. Operated by Lives Lived Well, the service delivers early intervention mental health support through a multidisciplinary team committed to evidence-based, person-centred and recovery-oriented care. About the Role As a Senior Mental Health Clinician, you will support the Team Leader to provide clinical leadership and coordination for the Intake Team while maintaining a clinical caseload. Key responsibilities include:
Supporting the coordination of intake, triage and referral processes. Conducting trauma-informed biopsychosocial assessments, including risk assessment and safety planning. Delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions to young people experiencing mental health concerns. Developing treatment plans and coordinating care. Supporting young people and families to access appropriate services and supports. Coordinating daily intake meetings and participating in regular case reviews. Providing clinical leadership, guidance and support to clinicians, students and graduates. Facilitating psycho-social and clinical group programs. Liaising with stakeholders to support continuity of care and smooth transitions between services. Contributing to quality improvement activities and evidence-based clinical practice. Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and client records.
Mandatory Requirements To be considered for this role, applicants must:
Hold a degree qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or Mental Health Nursing. Hold current AHPRA registration (Psychology, Occupational Therapy or Nursing) or be eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). Have demonstrated experience working in a senior mental health role, including mental health assessments, risk assessment and safety planning, treatment planning, therapeutic interventions and care coordination.

Experience providing guidance and support within a multidisciplinary clinical team. Experience undertaking biopsychosocial assessments and screening activities. Demonstrated experience completing comprehensive risk assessments, including suicide and violence risk assessments. Strong knowledge of trauma-informed, recovery-oriented and person-centred practice. Experience delivering counselling and evidence-based therapeutic interventions. Experience facilitating psycho-social and clinical group programs. Strong understanding of alcohol and other drug screening, psychoeducation and harm minimisation approaches. Excellent written communication, administration and documentation skills. Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with young people, families, carers and stakeholders. Current Blue Card (or ability to obtain). Current Australian Driver Licence. Ability to obtain a National Police Check.

Previous experience working within headspace or youth mental health settings. Experience supporting young people aged 12 to 25 years. Experience facilitating clinical reviews, intake discussions and care coordination processes. Experience providing supervision, mentoring or support to students, graduates or clinicians. Experience within alcohol and other drug services.
