Position Summary

The Senior Director, Accounting Systems & Finance Transformation serves as the strategic business owner for the Company's controllership systems portfolio, with primary responsibility for leading the implementation, governance, optimization, and long-term ownership of the Company's Oracle Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) platform, including Enterprise Data Management (EDMCS), Financial Consolidation and Close (FCCS), Account Reconciliation (ARCS), Narrative Reporting, and related capabilities.

Reporting within the Controllership organization, this role acts as the primary bridge between Accounting, Finance, Technology, Internal Audit, Compliance, and external implementation partners to ensure finance systems support accurate financial reporting, effective internal controls, efficient close processes, and scalable business growth. Beyond Oracle EPM, this leader will provide strategic oversight for the broader controllership systems ecosystem, including ERP financial processes, reporting and compliance platforms, lease accounting solutions, finance data environments, and future automation initiatives.

The ideal candidate combines deep accounting expertise with strong systems leadership capabilities and a proven track record leading large-scale finance transformation initiatives. This individual will build and lead a high-performing finance systems organization while driving continuous improvement, governance, and technology-enabled transformation across the Controllership function.

Key Responsibilities

Oracle EPM Implementation & Product Leadership

  • Serve as the business owner and strategic leader for the Oracle EPM platform, including EDMCS, FCCS, ARCS, and future EPM capabilities.
  • Lead the business workstream for the Oracle EPM implementation, partnering closely with Accounting, FP&A, Technology, Finance Transformation, and external implementation partners.
  • Drive key design decisions, requirements prioritization, solution validation, user acceptance testing, deployment readiness, and post-go-live stabilization.
  • Establish the long-term Oracle EPM roadmap, governance model, enhancement strategy, and support operating model.
  • Ensure EPM capabilities effectively support consolidation, financial close, account reconciliations, master data governance, and external reporting requirements.
  • Act as the primary Finance decision-maker for EPM-related process, configuration, and governance decisions.

Controllership Systems Strategy & Governance

  • Define and execute the long-term strategy and roadmap for the Controllership systems portfolio.
  • Serve as business owner for key finance technologies, including Oracle EPM, ERP financial processes, lease accounting solutions, reporting and compliance platforms, and finance data environments.
  • Establish governance processes for system investments, enhancement prioritization, resource allocation, and technology adoption.
  • Drive alignment across ERP, EPM, reporting, analytics, and data architecture to support future-state operating models and scalable growth.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions that improve efficiency, control, and user experience.

Accounting Systems Operations & Support

  • Lead the Accounting Systems team responsible for ongoing administration, production support, enhancement delivery, and optimization of finance platforms.
  • Oversee issue resolution, service management, root-cause analysis, and business continuity processes.
  • Establish testing standards, release management processes, and user acceptance testing governance across finance systems.
  • Develop and monitor service levels, system performance metrics, and user adoption measures.
  • Lead support for month-end close, financial reporting, consolidation, reconciliation, and compliance activities.

Accounting Process & Controls Leadership

  • Serve as a key advisor to Accounting leadership on system-enabled financial processes and controls.
  • Ensure finance systems support accounting policies, internal control requirements, SEC reporting obligations, and SOX compliance.
  • Oversee governance for system security, role design, user access, segregation of duties, and change management.
  • Partner with Internal Audit, Compliance, and Technology teams to maintain strong control environments and audit readiness.
  • Ensure integrity and consistency of financial and master data across systems.

Transformation & Automation

  • Lead initiatives to automate and streamline Accounting, Fixed Assets, Lease Accounting, Financial Close, Consolidation, and Reporting processes.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort, improve data quality, strengthen controls, and accelerate financial processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement through metrics, benchmarking, user feedback, and technology innovation.
  • Lead future finance systems expansions, upgrades, integrations, and transformation initiatives.

Leadership & Talent Development

  • Build and lead a high-performing Accounting Systems and Transformation organization.
  • Provide leadership for teams responsible for systems ownership, ERP and EPM enhancements, testing governance, security administration, and production support.
  • Develop talent across accounting, systems, process improvement, and transformation disciplines.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, customer service, operational excellence, and continuous learning.
  • Influence and collaborate effectively across a highly matrixed organization.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in Accounting, Financial Systems, Finance Transformation, or related disciplines.
  • 7+ years of leadership experience managing teams and enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience leading Oracle EPM implementations, finance systems transformations, or comparable enterprise finance technology initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of financial close, consolidation, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Experience leading system governance, testing, support, and enhancement delivery functions.
  • Proven ability to lead complex cross-functional programs and influence executive stakeholders.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA strongly preferred.
  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience with JD Edwards, Oracle EPM, ERP platforms, Workiva, and LeaseAccelerator.
  • Experience within a large public company environment.
  • Knowledge of ERP-to-EPM integrations, data governance, and finance systems architecture.
  • Background in public accounting, finance transformation consulting, or large-scale system implementations.
  • Experience operating in SOX-controlled environments.

Success Profile

The successful candidate will be:

  • An accountant who speaks technology and a systems leader who understands financial reporting and close processes.
  • Capable of leading a complex Oracle EPM implementation while building the long-term finance systems organization.
  • Comfortable challenging implementation partners and technology teams to ensure solutions meet business requirements.
  • Equally effective discussing consolidation logic, accounting controls, data governance, systems architecture, and transformation strategy.
  • Focused on business outcomes rather than system administration.
  • Able to balance strategic vision, operational leadership, and hands-on execution

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
