The posting

Meta is seeking an experienced Financial Reporting Manager who combines strong SEC reporting expertise with a track record of transforming financial processes and improving the data that supports reporting. This senior individual contributor will help deliver accurate, timely external and internal reporting while leading initiatives to simplify workflows, strengthen reporting data, and build scalable processes.

The role requires a hands-on leader who can translate reporting needs into a practical process and data strategy, work across teams to implement solutions, and drive adoption and measurable results. You will partner closely with technical accounting, investor relations, FP&A, tax, treasury, controllership, equity accounting, internal reporting, and finance systems and data teams to improve how financial information is sourced, reconciled, reviewed, and reported.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation or review of quarterly and annual financial reporting, including financial statements, earnings materials, statements of shareholders’ equity and cash flows, footnote disclosures, and MD&A schedules.
  • Lead reporting transformation initiatives from problem definition through implementation and adoption.
  • Develop prioritized plans, align stakeholders, and manage dependencies alongside recurring reporting responsibilities.
  • Define and track improvements in reporting cycle time, manual effort, reconciliation exceptions, and data quality.
  • Evaluate end-to-end reporting processes, identify root causes of bottlenecks and manual work, and redesign workflows and reconciliations to improve efficiency and scalability while maintaining reporting accuracy and effective controls.
  • Develop and execute a reporting data strategy in partnership with finance systems and data teams.
  • Own reporting-side requirements for consistent definitions, data quality, clear data ownership, and traceability from source systems to disclosures and management reporting.
  • Translate reporting needs into business requirements for systems, data, and automation solutions, including AI-enabled tools where appropriate.
  • Partner with technical teams on design, testing, and implementation, and drive adoption with appropriate validation, documentation, and human review.
  • Assess SEC and FASB developments, conduct technical research and financial reporting risk assessments, and evaluate implications for disclosures and reporting processes.
  • Review XBRL and applicable U.S.
  • GAAP and SEC disclosure requirements.
  • Support annual audits and quarterly reviews, partnering with internal and external auditors on reporting matters and changes to reporting processes.
  • Conduct benchmarking and ad hoc analyses, and contribute to relevant accounting conferences, industry roundtables, or standard-setting discussions as appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting or finance or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in accounting, technical accounting, SEC reporting, or equivalent
  • Strong technical accounting and operational knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements, with experience preparing or reviewing complex financial disclosures
  • Demonstrated experience leading end-to-end finance or accounting process transformation, including process redesign, implementation, stakeholder adoption, and measurable improvements
  • Experience developing and implementing a finance or reporting data strategy, including defining business requirements for data standardization, quality, ownership, and source-to-report traceability in partnership with systems or data teams
  • Experience translating finance requirements into practical systems or data solutions and partnering with technical teams to validate and implement them
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently, exercise judgment, and manage concurrent reporting deadlines and complex improvement initiatives in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Big Four public accounting
  • Experience in finance or accounting process transformation or an SEC reporting function at a large public technology company
  • Experience with Workiva, Oracle financial systems, Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) applications, or comparable financial reporting and analytical tools
  • Hands-on experience with data querying, analytics, or visualization tools to support reporting, process improvement, and executive communications
  • Experience implementing automation or AI-enabled workflows in finance or accounting, including validating outputs and integrating them into controlled reporting processes
  • CPA or equivalent qualification
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
  • Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
