Overview

Microsoft Marketing Finance is seeking a Finance Director, MCAPS Marketing Finance to lead the evolution of how we measure, understand, and optimize the impact of Microsoft’s marketing investments.

This leader will set the vision and strategy for Marketing Finance analytics, expanding our capabilities beyond LTV/CAC and media measurement to build a broader, integrated approach to marketing ROI, investment effectiveness, and resource allocation. The leader will also harness AI and advanced analytics to transform how we generate insights, scale measurement, and enable faster, higher-quality investment decisions. The role will be responsible for creating scalable frameworks and insights that connect marketing investments to business outcomes and enable leaders to make better, faster investment and trade-off decisions. This directly supports Marketing Finance’s FY27 priority of maximizing ROI by linking spend to business outcomes and using ROI frameworks to guide next-best-dollar decisions.

The Finance Director, MCAPS Marketing Finance will lead a team and partner closely with senior Marketing, Product, Finance, and analytics leaders across Microsoft. The ideal candidate combines strong financial and business judgment, analytical depth, AI fluency and a track record of using emerging technologies to transform analytics and decision-making, executive presence, and the ability to translate complex data into clear insights and actionable recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the vision for Marketing Finance Analytics, defining the roadmap, frameworks, and capabilities required to measure marketing effectiveness and inform investment decisions across Microsoft.
  • Expand marketing ROI measurement beyond media, developing consistent approaches to evaluate investment effectiveness across the broader marketing portfolio and enable prioritization and resource allocation.
  • Lead LTV/CAC and ROI analytics, evolving existing capabilities and connecting customer economics, incremental outcomes, investment levels, and business value to improve decision-making.
  • Lead the AI transformation of Marketing Finance Analytics, identifying and scaling AI-enabled capabilities that automate foundational analysis, generate deeper and faster insights, and improve marketing investment and ROI decisions.
  • Turn analytics into decisions, translating complex data and ambiguous findings into clear executive-level insights, recommendations, and investment actions.
  • Partner with senior Marketing, Product, Finance, and Analytics leaders to establish shared KPIs, measurement frameworks, and decision processes that improve marketing effectiveness.
  • Build scalable analytical capabilities, leveraging data, AI, automation, and advanced analytics to increase the speed, consistency, and quality of insights.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team, setting clear priorities and accountability while coaching the team to strengthen analytical, business-partnership, and strategic-finance capabilities.
  • Drive cross-company alignment on measurement methodologies, data sources, assumptions, and financial frameworks to create greater consistency and trust in marketing ROI insights.

  • Strong financial and analytical capabilities, with experience translating complex analysis into business decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and partner effectively with senior executives across complex organizations.

  • Experience developing analytical frameworks and using data to influence resource allocation and investment decisions.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
